Without doubt the best Indian food we’ve had in Mauritius and arguably the best food in general. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere with a mix of Mauritians and foreigners. The service was first class. The food really was excellent. As a family we like different levels of spice and all our tastebuds were satisfied. Our boy was very well looked after too which was an added bonus. I’d highly recommend Kerali. It’s a must try place.

Had a nice experience at Kerali Restaurant. Parking is available, which is convenient. It’s better to make a prior booking, as the place can get busy.

The Malabar prawns curry was really good — rich and flavorful.
The aloo paratha was also very good, soft and well-spiced.
The plain rice was simple and perfectly cooked.

Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion size.

Overall, a good spot for Indian/Kerala food with reliable service and tasty dishes. Would recommend!

To get 9 tiny pieces of mutton in rojan gosh that you have paid Rs 495 for a takeaway is beyond disappointing.

We used to be big fans when Kerali first opened but when a complaint is made (in private) they don’t seem to understand about customer service.

We didn’t say anything the last time we were also disappointed about portion size and after their response this evening in private trying to justify the portion and eventually that “next time we will do better”, there will be no next time and I wanted to warn others.

UPDATE FOLLOWING THE RESPONSE BELOW.
It is extremely evident that you do not understand what customer service or private feedback is. We did address this privately and directly with you before posting this review – but YOU chose not to “address” the issue and only gave push back. The pieces shown in the photos were the size of a lady’s fingertip. Not only that but the significant difference in portion size is also evident in the photo below.

Following your extremely rude mannerisms, and abominable customer service, we will now not only not return but we will also spread the word. We live locally. Good luck.

After seeing the lowest ratings I really don’t understand how people can’t wait for good food
We’ve been eating there consistently for maybe a little over 2 years now, dine in, take out, you name it, we’ve had it. We are always welcomed so warmly, the food is always delicious and yes, waiting time can be a little long sometime but it is so worth it. We took so many people there to eat and it’s always the same outcome : everyone is happy. Good food takes time, as says the sign in the restaurant 🙂 To me, hands down the BEST indian restaurant in Mauritius.
To anyone wanting to try, ignore the negative comments and go experience it for yourself
Thank you for always feeding us amazing food

Adding to review(second review)As we dinned in this time the food was excellent.staff pleasant on the phone. In arrival staff very warm welcoming. Good interaction regarding food and the origins of dishes. All in all a good place for dinning. Review updated – (first review)We ordered a Takeaway away to sample the food. The food was very nice and I will dine there again. An unfortunate event- when we got there to pick up the food order the food was not ready as the staff forgot to pass our order to the chefs. We had to wait not very long..the staff were pleasant and apologetic. We did not mind really. It was worth the wait as so far it’s the best south Indian food that I have tasted in the north of Mauritius. I have given a 4 star for service because they forgot to prepare my food. I will review again once I go for my next meal. 3 star for atmosphere because I was not there for long to be reviewed soon. So far the food was really very nice.

One of the best curries we have had in Mauritius! The taste is out of this world, there’s plenty of parking and the service is the best on the island. We have lived here many years and this restaurant definitely ticks all the boxes. Uday is one of the best waiters we have ever had.

Great food and value for money. We’ve done takeaways and eaten in, and all the dishes we’ve tried have been fab — but the butter chicken and rogan josh are our favourites, with crispy paratha and cheese naan on the side Very popular over weekends, so it’s best to book. Highly recommended!

Nice restaurant with amazing food, none of the food had chilly in it which is a big deal for my family.

Service time is around 30 minutes and the food was simply mind blowing and almost everything is priced accordingly.

The prawn 65 is a must to have!

Overall highly recommended and will definitely visit them again

This was our first visit to celebrate a birthday as recommended by a friend. We were hugely impressed with this clean and attractive restaurant. The staff made us feel at home immediately. The food was out of this world and the service prompt and with a smile. Most of us chose spicy dishes but they were full of flavour. We chose 2 different rices with our meals, being tamarind rice and lemon rice. Very flavourful. We highly recommend that you visit here…you will not be disappointed!

This was our favourite restaurant whilst staying in the north of Mauritius. Over four visits in total, we explored their extensive menu of interesting and different dishes and found some amazing and delicious items.
The menu varies greatly from typical restaurants in Europe, and really shows off some of the stars from both North and South India.
Everything is cooked fresh to order, so make sure you have plenty of time and relax with a cold beer whilst it is being prepared – you won’t be disappointed.
The staff are extremely friendly, and whilst communication wasn’t always the easiest, it was all done with the biggest smiles..!
Thank you for some great memories.
