We were told about this place by a local. Ken’s is a must of you are in the area and looking for authentic local cuisine. We had the lobster roll, clam chowder, fish, and fries. It is of the beaten path a little out of town. The atmosphere is like that of a dive.

First time in Maine and this was our first stop. It was really good. It was a little pricey but it’s Maine and seafood so what can you really expect. Also, price is a personal take but for reference we got a clam roll, crabmeat roll, coleslaw and Diet coke and it came out to $48, do with that as you will. The rolls were really good but personally I didn’t like the coleslaw and I’m a coleslaw girl but to each their own, that’s why I gave the food 4/5 stars. The food came out so quick, about 8 minutes on a Tuesday afternoon. The people were friendly. They also had a raw bar for oysters n such, we didn’t try it but if I went back I would try. Overall, I’d recommend and go back!

Fun little beach joint. Order and pick up at the window. Food was standard. We had lobster roll and cheeseburger, fries and slaw. Refills for two drinks were going to be $8 – so we opted out.

First visit. Fried shrimp dinner portion was very generous and delicious. I would order again hands down. Slaw isn’t bad either and it is house made and not over dressed. Could have used a touch less mayo for my taste but not bad and I’d eat it again.

What stood out to me as unique
They offer both bottled and their own homemade tarter. Get.the.house.made. It’s fantastic. I’m a pickle fan and the house made highlights the pickle perfectly. So good.

I dug the atmosphere also. D the service is efficient.
It’s an order at the counter and wait for your number deal.

It’s not on the water and maybe a little out of the way but I would recommend it based on the amount I enjoyed my meal and the fairness of their prices.

I ordered chowder for the first time it was my first time there it was delicious so much so that I went back and ordered another one. I decided to go back today and order two more and yesterday’s chowdah was not watery thin but not super thick it was in between and it had like a goldenish tone to it. The flavor was spot on. Today I ordered the same thing and it’s like water milky white, not nearly the same flavor. The ingredients themselves are good the potatoes are cooked beautifully and the seafood is very good It’s just the broth is just miles different between yesterday and today I am so disappointed. I had my mouth ready for this.

I found out they close on the 26th so I will go back again probably tomorrow and pick it up one more time and see what happens.

It would be nice to know what consistency actually is supposed to be.

Our first trip to Maine and we were looking for a good suggestion for seafood and we’re told to try Ken’s.
This place was non- stop with people coming and going and definitely a popular spot. There were 2 other seafood restaurants on this same road and their parking lots were pretty empty. I ordered the seafood platter that included shrimp, clam straps, slaw, fries, roll and lemonade. My honey ordered the lobster roll, fries and lemonade. It was his first time having a lobster roll and he wasn’t impressed. It had a mayo mix and he wasn’t given the option of the hot butter lobster roll He ate it and I shared my platter with him. Prices are high in Maine and it cost almost $70 for the 2 of us. Food was okay but the portions could be bigger. And offer more options for the lobster roll.

Our campground host suggested this place as where all the locals go. Easy to fun and definitely lots of folks go there.

Food was good, just not the most flavorful of seafood that’s we’ve enjoyed. Lobster roll was good and the slaw was home made and really yummy.

Plenty of seating and parking. Indoor and outdoor bathrooms.

Staff was friendly!

Self service, decent food, love the lobster roll. Recommended. Didn’t like the raw oysters. They were super skinny.

The place was full. Which, usually is a sign of good food. Ordered fried Haddock dinner. The fish, fries and the tartar sauce tasted like nothing! My son had baked scallops. He said the same. Neither of us finished our plates. Self serving and self seating. We won’t be back.

I have been coming here for 45 years. It has barely changed in all that time. It is still the amazing family run restaurant with the best clams in the country. I love fried clams. I have tried hard to find anywhere that compares with Ken’s. No place has even come close. Try both the batter and the crumbs.

The service is excellent. It is a well run ship. It has to be. This place can be very busy during tourist season. The drinks are delicious and the food is amazing!! There are tons of picnic tables, many covered or in the shade, spread out over a large area. So feel free to bring your puppy with you!
