Since 1973, Ken’s Fast Foods Restaurant has been a beloved landmark in Fayetteville, Tennessee. Mr. Ken Dorning, who had previously co-owned several Burger Chef establishments in the 1960s, realized that he wanted to establish a local operation in his small town of Fayetteville, and thus opened Ken’s Fast Foods. In 2001, Tammye, Ken’s daughter, and her husband Randy Rozar along with their children took over the business. The restaurant stayed in the family until July 2023 when the Rozars made the difficult decision to sell. Currently, Dan Holt, a local entrepreneur who owns several other businesses in the area, runs and operates Ken’s Fast Foods. Dan aims to maintain and honor the establishment’s legacy.

This is a smaller, older looking restaurant. They were busy even for a late lunch around 2 PM. There’s not a ton of parking and some of it is on an incline, but it worked out okay for me.
Inside there are about 6-7 small tables and a spot to order at the counter. The menu consists of classic American fast food options, like burgers, chicken tenders, and fries. It reminds me a little bit of a drive-in spot just because it is so nostalgic-feeling.
The service was spot-on and so nice. The ladies working were beyond pleasant and helpful and many seemed to know the local customers quite well. My food came out quickly and was nice and hot.
I ordered a bacon hamburger and a side of fries. Portion sizes here are pretty reasonable and appropriate for the lower price, though if you come with a big appetite I would recommend getting a double or something. Fortunately, I didn’t need a huge meal that late in the day, so I was happy with my order. The burger was cooked nicely, the bun was soft, and the bacon was flavorful and crispy if not particularly thick-cut. The fries had a lot of gooey-hot potatoey insides and went well dipped in ketchup.
Simple, fast, and tasty food here! I’d recommend and would visit again if I find myself back in the area.
Definitely stop if you are in the area!!
I .loved away for a couple years and when I returned, excited for the best burger I’d ever had, it’s not what I remembered. It looks the same, the building is the same, service is the same, atmosphere the same, but the food was a far cry from what it once was. For as long as I can remember that food tasted exactly the same, but not any more. I still come back with the hopes I’ll get that burger from before but I’m let down each time.
