got there around 1pm on a Sunday, it took about 10 minutes for us to get a table- pretty cozy restaurant and fairly busy. Got our dishes within 5-10 minutes of ordering. The only downside is our A1 dish did not come with bokchoy and it took a minute for us to flag down a lady and took another 5 minutes for them to bring out some chopped bokchoy in a small bowl. The fish also wasn’t really minced but more like big chunks of cod…but we did enjoy the liver dishes, the sauce that came with 19 was very good and paired well with the dish. The youtiaos were also pretty good and tasted freshly made. As for the fresh soy milk, I perferred the cold over the hot and it tasted good but the soy flavor wasnt as strong as other places that I tried before. If I were to go back I’d for sure would like to try more of their liver dishes.

Extremely friendly staff! Regular size soups were a generous portion and very filling. Wontons were HUGE and juicy. Complimentary hot tea was served upon seating. We left feeling very warm and full. I will be returning for the congee. Cash preferred.

This is hands down the best wonton noodle soup I’ve had anywhere in North America. It’s not even comparable to most of the places in Los Angeles.

As someone who’s Cantonese and has actually worked in wonton noodle shops before, I could tell from the very first bite that this is the real deal. In the context of the U.S., this is an impressively authentic bowl of wonton noodles.

Sure, there are still a few minor things that could be improved, but considering where we are, this flavor already exceeds expectations. I’m more than satisfied.

The portion size is generous, and the wontons are perfectly sized — not oversized like at many other restaurants where you have to split one wonton into two bites. Everything feels balanced and thoughtfully done.

If you care about proper Cantonese wonton noodles, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

this is a goto and go-back !

pure chinese comfort and nothing more…congee with no fuss, in any way you want it, from the standard chicken congee with 100 year-old-eggs to the more adventurous pork liver and pork stomach. yumm!!!! warm with super clean flavors and the rich texture.

soup noodles are the same way, in every combo. great broth. the side dishes are the ones you never see, like kidney.

it feels like the kitchen growing up. the room is pure diner with no pizazz. full of chinese folk, and families having a saturday morning.

The meal started with complimentary tea. The Steamed Beef Tripe appetizer was tender with a nice bounce and came with soy sauce for dipping. The Wonton Noodle Soup was very authentic and reminded me of how my parents make it. The Chinese donut (youtiao), was also good. You can dip the youtiao into the wonton soup for a different texture and flavor.

There was one issue, as we found a dead bug inside one of the vegetables in the soup. Since the group we were with are regulars, the staff joked that it meant the vegetables were very fresh. I found this funny, but others may not. The check was a bit confusing since we didn’t receive an itemized receipt, but I don’t think we were overcharged.

Authentic and Delicious!

I really like the food at Kenny’s Noodle House. The congee is comforting and flavorful, especially the salted pork with preserved egg—one of the best I’ve had. The wonton noodle soup is also excellent—fresh, tasty, and satisfying. This place feels like a true hidden gem. The environment is cozy and reminds me of a classic Cantonese eatery. Service is fast, and prices are reasonable. Definitely one of my favorite spots for authentic Chinese comfort food in Portland!

Love the pork congee with liver. If I could eat more, I would have. Saw food that came out to other tables. They all looked great.

Kenny’s Noodle house is a fantastic place to enjoy authentic Cantonese noodles & wontons. They prefer you use cash but will still accept card. Three large and filling bowls will cost you $45~55 (without tip) and feed 3-4 people easily.

They have lots of options and ample parking. They offer complimentary hot tea but also have a delicious homemade soy milk that can be served hot or cold. The soymilk is on the sweeter side so for those who like a less sweet one I would steer away from it.

We ordered their braised beef brisket, shrimp wonton + noodles, & shrimp dumplings. We did not try their veggie appetizers but I am sure they are also very good too.

Finally, right amount of food rather than give you a huge amount of food and make you fat! Just kidding but yes, right amount of food and the taste is really good for me, as Cantonese. I think their noodle texture is nice. I already come back this place couple times!

Kenny’s is the best spot for authentic soups, congee & other traditional Chinese/Hong Kong style delights. I’ve been coming here for well over a decade. The beef brisket wonton soup (add extra wontons) is out of this world! The chili oil they provide is the perfect compliment. You can chose from several different noodles, too, which is awesome! So thankful Kenny’s is still thriving as it’s truly an old school gem in the hood…
