When we planned our trip to Maine, we had one thing at the top of our list—fresh lobster and authentic New England seafood—and this spot absolutely delivered!
We kicked off our meal with drinks: a classic Painkiller cocktail and an Allagash White beer—both perfect for a sunny day by the water. From there, we ordered the crab cakes and clam chowder to start. The crab cakes were honestly some of the crabbiest we’ve ever had—in the best way! Packed with so much real crab meat, it barely seemed like there was anything else holding them together.
The chowder was thinner in consistency than what we’re used to, but the flavor was spot on—rich, savory, and full of that briny, coastal taste we love.
For our entrées, we went straight for the lobster. I had the hot lobster roll, and wow—it was overflowing with lobster meat. It might just be the most lobster I’ve ever had in a roll. Sweet, tender, and buttery—perfection!
My husband ordered the seafood pot pie, which came with a flaky golden crust hiding an entire lobster claw along with more lobster and haddock inside. Rich, hearty, and delicious.
We enjoyed our meal sitting outside by the water, soaking up the sunshine and coastal vibes. This was exactly the kind of seafood experience we came to Maine for—fresh, flavorful, and unforgettable.
A must-visit for anyone craving fresh seafood and stunning views.
I had the fried haddock platter at $22. It was a medium portion with ff and Cole slaw. It was fresh. The fries were not quite cooked, but still ok.
We also had mussels, fried calamari, fried clams. Everyone loved their meals.
Our waitresses was awesome, quick, and attentive.
I first contacted them from their website on 9/23. I received an email response on 9/26. On 9/27 I emailed advising I would like to reserve their room and asked if they could call me to answer some questions. I heard nothing and followed up on 10/2 asking if she could give me a call to discuss some questions I had. The response was that she was very busy and she asked if we could communicate through email. She did not confirm we had the reservation.
I heard nothing and followed up on 10/10. I emailed asking what needed to be done to finalize the reservation. I heard nothing.
On 10/17 I emailed advising the reservation still had not been finalized, that I still had questions, and that I was worried they were too busy for the party which was now less than a month away. On that day, she finally responded by email that we had the reservation and that they could handle the party. She also told me we could limit menu, but that it had to fit on one page. She said the fall menu would be ready in a week and we would limit that menu. I got the fall menu, electronically in PDF format, almost three weeks later, on 11/7.
They had a 3-page menu with a cover that could not be limited to a single page unless we removed most of the items. Thinking I was helping her because she was so busy, I was able to edit the PDF and delete the items we did not want to offer and remove the prices so our guests would not see them. My version looked EXACTLY like their menu, including the cover. She emailed that she would not use my edited version as it was not what they did and scolded me for my effort. I asked if I could call her to discuss it, she said she was too busy to talk to me and basically told me to use her full menu. She added that she shouldn’t have offered the limited menu, and questioned if she should have declined our party. She continued to admonish me, this time for not following her rules and for asking for too many exceptions. She said I had to adhere to her policies and I was taking too much of her limited time. She went on to say she had a family crisis and that I was adding stress that she could not take.
To be clear, the only thing I was asking for was the limited menu – that she offered! Meanwhile, she would not talk to me on the phone and had a habit of not responding to emails necessitating follow-ups. I did not appreciate her lecturing or attitude towards me, a paying customer.
If she had talked to me on the phone or just answered my email questions instead of responding how busy she was, this would have gone much better. As it was, I probably should have gone elsewhere. The only thing keeping me from a one-star rating was that the party itself was fine. If that’s all I was rating, I would have rated it a 5. But….
We ordered the lobster tortellini and clam chowder. We also shared mussles as an appetizer. Food was good and came out hot. The tortellini needed lots of salt and pepper but the cheese and lobster were quality and they didn’t skimp at all on the amount of lobster served! Untoasted pita came with the mussles and I saved them for my chowder.
Would go again if we’re ever back in Bath!
