People talk about the hidden treasures, KEMA Bakery is just that. A family owned business, right in the middle of downtown Sugar Creek, Missouri. Nancy bakes the most delicious items you can only imagine. Everyday there is something new. Her fruitcake for Christmas week was beyond yummy, along with orange cranberry cake, red velvet cupcakes and her biscuits and gravy and oh dont forget to take extra time to sit and enjoy a cup of hot brew.

Me and my mom were searching for a bakery to make us an Italian lemon ricotta cake for my brother’s birthday. After a recommendation from someone else, we reached out to Kema Sweets to inquire.
Although they have never made this exact cake before, they offered to make it and allow us to come in for a taste test before proceeding. It was absolutely delicious, one of the best cakes we’ve had, by the way.
The service was amazing, the enviroment of the bakery itself is very welcoming and cozy, but the cake….the cake speaks volumes. I definitely recommend this bakery to anyone around!

The sweet owner of this place probably saved me and my daughter’s life. My daughter and I were walking up to the nearest store, as, my transmission went out on my car. It was 100 degrees out. We were looking to buy a little bit of milk to get us by till we could get a ride to the store. We happened upon this quaint little bakery that I’d never noticed before in our 2 years of living in Sugar Creek. Asked the owner if she could spare some milk and that of course I’d pay for it. She obliged, which saved us a lengthier walk in 100 degree weather. (So there’s no question, my daughter is grown). Thank you, you were (and still are!) the hero of the day! Just for that I bought 3 yummy scones and a little nick-nack with the Kansas City Chiefs on it. ❤️.

Always a good place to sip coffee and reminisce about all the good things that we have in life. The owner is always friendly and goes out of her way to make sure that you enjoy your stay. If you want some great bakery items and you want to support your local veteran, than this is the place to do it! Great place!!!!!!
