Kelly’s Tavern first opened its doors on Colley Avenue in 1983. Since then, we’ve grown to become a locals’ favorite across Hampton Roads with 7 locations in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake and Newport News. Known for our humongous burgers, outdoor dining and excellent casual fare, we are proud to have won a variety of community awards.

08/12/22. Stopped by this place about a week ago, got a half order of nachos. Filled me right up. The burgers are great also. Been to a bunch of them, this one is so different inside. Lots of video games kids could play. The staff was nice. I am not sure if they play UFC but if they did that would be cool.

Page was our server, she was very nice and was very attentive. We ordered the fish and chips, it was out in no time, three pieces of fish and lots of fries, the cold Slaw was good, the tartar sauce I didn’t like.

It was just okay. Our salads came out with our dinner, instead of before. The fish and chips were okay. The side salad on the menu said 3.00, we were charged 9.00, then when corrected we were charged 5.00 with the statement that the 3.00 is the price if you were substituting a side from a meal. The menu clearly said 3.00, but I paid the 5.00 for 2 salads just to be done. This was our first and last visit.

Went in to have lunch and kill time. The place was nicely appointed. Televisions for days. Decent size crowd for a Sunday afternoon. Everyone seemed happy. The friendly woman behind the bar sang happily under her breath, adding to the charm. I wanted to save my carb allotment for beer, and the kitchen was happy to make my brisket topped burger bunless. Garlic broccoli was an available side. The tuna bites appetizer was lip-smacking good. Tasted like some more, but the portion was generous. Service was prompt and courteous. The bathroom was lovely and immaculate. I could see myself going on purpose in the future.

We hadn’t been here for several years so we stopped in for lunch. We were seated by the bar and served by the bartender. Food was disappointing. I ordered a Reuben and my friend ordered a burger and sweet potato fries. Her burger looked like it had been microwaved , the cheese had been melted into obscurity and lettuce was wilted. Their Reubens used to be great with house made corned beef. They now use deli meat, maybe due to supply chain issues. The bartender though busy, provided us adequate service.

Divine is not an all time thing, unless your at Kelly’s. Then yes. Yes it is. How is the food? Beyond Perfect. How is that possible? Hey, its Kelly’s. How many channels are on TV? As many Tv’s as Kelly’s has. How many seats? Enough to seat a crew and plenty of spinners. Don’t say no. Just go.
