Food was delicious, my friend who lives here suggested getting the onion bun roast beef done 3 way (sauce) and it hit the mark. Fries were plentiful and fried pickles, yummy! Pricing was a little extra is why I gave 4 stars, seeing as my husband got a large roast beef and we got the small but the meat looked the same on all. We would totally be back. Great choice.

update 09/27/25 laughable that I thought things would get better after my last visit. Second photo is from today I might as well had told them to dump water all over the fries package them up. The fries are soggy saturated with grease making a clay consistency. At this point they just don’t care. Convenience of location is the only thing keeping them open.

After going to kellys for over 20 years i think this will be my final disappointing meal here. Anyone from boston area who ordered cheese fries with bacon will look at this and immediately see drop in quality. Imagine spending $21 and its the saddest clumps of fries with bacon you can count.

We placed a takeout order and were very disappointed with both the service and the quality. The estimated pickup time was 9:30, but the order wasn’t ready until around 9:50. On top of that, the food was prepared completely differently than what we requested—no sauce on the side, among other issues. The roast beef sandwich was especially disappointing; it was just sliced beef drenched in an unpleasant sauce. Overall, we were very let down by both the experience and the food

Not only are the employees here super friendly and welcoming, but they serve the best grilled chicken sandwich you will have. It comes with a nice honey mustard sauce, the perfect amount of Swiss cheese, on a grilled and buttery sesame bun with a pickle and a bag of chips. Also, the roast beef is decadent. It is not deli meat! This is the real deal roast beef and it is amazing. Kelly’s on route 16 is definitely the best roast beef shop around. You have to try it!

First time impression. The roast beef sandwich is a touch dry. You will need to add something to moisten the meat such as bbq sauce or mayo. The cheese steak was good. The slaw was really good in my opinion as I enjoy a crunchy slaw with a vinager tang.
The interior has many historical pictures on the walls so it was entertaining. The tables were clean and the inside was mostly tidy.
It is the typical counter service. Much of the industry is moving to this ordering model. I really miss the distinction between fast food and sit down.

Kelly’s Roast Beef has been a New England institution. I am sad to say with the prices they now charge and the amount of food on the plate it’s no longer worth it. Although the food was very good. And the staff was a pleasure to deal with. The shrinkage is to much to take. I’m sorry Kelly’s but I will no longer be a fan.
