I like hole in the wall breakfast restaurants. Kelly’s was clean, including the bathrooms, and the staff is welcoming. The menu spans from breakfast to lunch. And from the looks of the other diners plates; it all looked delicious, for less that $10 I got a tasty made-to-order breakfast. On the way out, I found Jesus at Kelly’s restaurant. For the first time in my life, I tried out Kelly’s Family Diner. I swear I’m the only person in Wichita that’s never eaten there until today. For about $9, this Western Omlet was a decent value. I especially liked the potatoes. They were something I’ve never seen at any breakfast spot I’ve tried in town.

Been hearing a lot about Kelly’s; their attentive staff, good food and generosity to the community. I can honestly say they did not disappoint. They put love into their food. I had the Country Fried Steak with mashed potatoes with white gravy, green beans and dinner roll. Loved the seasoning on the steak and how the light breading didn’t take away from the taste. Some restaurants over do it on the breading. The mashed potatoes, gravy (so creamy), dinner roll (fluffy) and green beans (seasoned so well with bacon and onions) were all superb. I also had the ham and beans soup and corn bread. Amazing! I have been searching for ham and bean soup that my grandma use to make for years and they nailed it! The cornbread was perfectly golden and moist. My wife had the philly cheese steak and loved it. Her homemade fries were crispy and tasty. We will definitely be going back again and again. We still have to try the meatloaf, roast beef and cinnamon rolls.

Really impressed w the amount of bacon they serve up alongside their breakfasts. I added bacon and eggs to my Belgian waffle for only like $2.50-3 extra and think I had five strips, w two perfectly cooked over medium eggs. Will come again.

Very rude staff. We walked in and were standing there for a while before being motioned by the host to sit anywhere in the left side of the restaurant. There were no clean tables. We stood there for more time while those picked up dirty dishes on the only freed up table. She then went to clean off another table on the other side of the restaurant when no one else was waiting. Then finally she got to wiping down the only table we could sit at.
No silverware and it took forever to get beverages. The one of two servers ignored us as long as she could, and rushed our food order. We didn’t even get our silverware until after our food came out. Which it took a long time to get our food.
My boyfriend got the steak and over easy eggs. He asked for the steak to be medium rare. It was almost completely raw. His eggs weren’t cooked properly and seemed almost raw too. My son’s scrambled eggs seemed to have been overcooked and had some residue from food that we did not order.
The server checked on us one time and it took so long to get our ticket to pay. The host was unpleasant.. again. And they ask how much you want to tip before passing your card.
I love going to mom & pop restaurants, but this is one I will never go back to again. I can forgive a lot of things, but everything that happened was completely unacceptable.

Decent little family diner. Food is pretty good and the prices aren’t bad. My only criticism is that there was only one employee working the floor and only one small section of seating available. We were forced to take the last open table by the back corner and it felt a bit crowded with every table full and close together. If you’re looking to have a quiet breakfast you might try when they aren’t so busy. Other than that, no complaints.

Our first time here and it was extremely clean (which is rare here), great prices, and food was delicious!
It didn’t taste like they use frozen food and the staff was very diligent which speaks well of the ownership!

Love love love this place! The owner is a doll. The food is always hot and fresh and the servings are huge. The restaurant is always clean, and my coffee cup is always full. And that’s all I can ask for 🙂 In my opinion, I do not think there is anywhere else that can top this place. Try their blueberry pancakes or French toast, heaven!! Oh, and if you like liver and onions, this is your place!
Edit to add that the food here is NOT hit and miss. It is consistently delicious. Their lunch and dinner menu is just as delicious as their huge breakfasts
