This was our first time eating at Kelly’s Diner, and we were very impressed by our experience. The host was courteous and friendly and the food was outstanding. I had their fried chicken, which was cooked to order and cooked to perfection. We will make Kelly’s one of our regular restaurants.

We were in town for just the day and needed to grab some lunch. The crawfish pie was fantastic. My family also had the shrimp stir fry and the chicken tenders and fries, also delicious! Service was great and the wait was not long. I would definitely visit again if I’m in town!

The workers here are so friendly, food is delicious and reasonably priced, and the food comes out so quick!
Katie who takes orders and works at the front is so sweet and upbeat. Love this place for their plate lunches, and they have such a big menu for anything and everything you could be craving. Highly recommend!

Just passing through Opelousas . Saw this place on Google map. Not what we expected for $14 a plate. Ordered a fish and shrimp combo .There is also another piece of fish missing and 2 shrimp with lots of fries . The portions were really small also ordered shrimp étouffée , field peas were dry. I will not consider going back.

We ordered the lunch pork hoop special. Two nice sized chops with brown gravy and rice. It was yummy. The shrimp poboy good too. It was newly renovated and clean. Great place to stop if you don’t want fast food.

Kelly’s Diner has been keeping me well-fed with purchases of plate lunches for AT LEAST EIGHTEEN YEARS NOW!
My 80 year old father is a widow now, and we are buying him the plate lunches, and he LOVES everything he has eaten from Kelly’s, too.
Everyone in my family agrees that Kelly’s has the best rice-and-gravy possibly in all of Acadiana. No matter the meat, that gravy is always PERFECT!
Personally, their stuffed pork chop plate lunch, their field peas and black eyed peas, and BBQ Chicken are some of my favorites!!!
The potato salad is the best I’ve had, too.
It really is food like maw-maw would be cooking.

Oh…there is only one thing I don’t really like: their sausage in the red beans and the sausage Creole meal is VERY coarse. It doesn’t taste good to me at all. It tastes like unseasoned coarse deer meat that hasn’t been mixed with any pork.

Great food and service. I tried the shrimp po boy and loved it. 2 others in my group had the chicken and sausage gumbo and loved it too – they said there was enough in each serving to be able to split! All in all a great find, very happy we stopped in on the way through town
