Interesting location for a restaurant. This used to be Kelly Elementary school. The restaurant is set up in the old cafeteria of the school. Loved the concept. I had chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. A nice lightly breaded steak and real mashed potatoes. Very good and very good service to match. It was done nicely for Christmas. This was a great spot to happen on. PS: sorry for the partially eaten steak. I was hungry and it was good.

Delicious lunch! Awesome Patty Melt and Chicken Fingers. Sweet Potato fries were cooked to perfection. Wait staff was super friendly. It is housed inside an old elementary school, so it can be a bit tricky to find, but was totally worth it. Homemade desserts and pies too.

Yep. It’s an old elementary school turned discreet random restaurant in a residential area. I admit, after traveling off the highway I was a bit confused upon arrival. Asked a local to confirm, parked and went inside. It was weekday mid afternoon so I was solo. Ate at the counter. It’s a unique vibe. I couldn’t really figure it out but stayed to check out the meal. Service was solid. Prices are good. Ordered the chicken fried steak. Really good. Huge portions. Would definitely recommend. I did see a sign that said something about special events only on the weekends so maybe check to make sure it’s open if Sat Sun. Give it a try.

Kelly’s Cafe is in an old elementary school cafeteria. Quaint and unassuming, the menu makes up for the building. The food is AWESOME! Everything we ordered was plated beautifully, perfect temperature, and excellent taste! If you haven’t visited Kelly’s Cafe, you need to RUN to visit this hidden gem in Colorado City.

This restaurant in an old school was a hit for lunch. The stuffed avocado one friend had was gobbled right up. My other friend’s chicken fried steak covered a majority of her rather large plate & she declared it delicious. My salad was modified for my vegan diet with no meat or cheese but extra avocado & it was perfect. Great food & the fun atmosphere make this place a must when driving through CCity.

Unusual location for a restaurant, but great to see buildings repurposed. Definitely worth the drive off the highway as we were passing thru town going home to North Central Texas. Boyfriend said the mashed potatoes were the best and the Sunday roast was good. My blt was great!
