People are always raving about Kelleher’s, and I finally had the chance to see what all the hype was about. My husband and I walked in and it almost felt like we showed up after the party had already started, which was actually kind of funny and honestly a good sign. Everyone was clearly having a great time, enjoying their meals, and catching up with friends.
From the moment you walk up to Kelleher’s, it’s absolutely beautiful. It’s located in downtown Peoria among all the historic brick buildings, and the wrought iron gates paired with the classic Irish font make it feel so charming and inviting. Walking inside is just as impressive — there’s greenery everywhere, a cozy fireplace right at the entrance, and all kinds of different tables and chairs that don’t match at all… in the best way. I loved that detail, it adds so much character.
There are decorations everywhere you look: fish hanging from the ceiling, mermaids, historical pictures, doors, windows — so many unique and artistic touches that make the space feel almost like a gallery. One thing that really stood out to me was the layout. The building has such a unique shape, and it felt like each table was thoughtfully placed and somewhat sectioned off with doors toward the front, giving everyone privacy. I thought that was really cool.
We started with the Irish chips. They were bacon and cheese-covered wedges. The cheese had really good flavor. For our main dishes, my husband and I both ordered the maple bacon Swiss chicken sandwich. I’ll be honest, I was a little apprehensive when I saw it was made with a chicken thigh rather than a breast. It wasn’t my favorite choice, but the Swiss cheese and bacon definitely helped, and I still ate most of it. I got sweet potato fries for my side they tasted good but they would have been even better if they were crispier!
Our server, Jailynn, was so sweet and soft-spoken and made us feel very comfortable. After our meal, I couldn’t help but walk around and really take in the restaurant. Luckily, it wasn’t too busy, so I was able to explore the back of the space and even go up the staircase to check out the super cool circular booths upstairs.
This place is incredibly fascinating and artistic. I absolutely loved taking my time looking at the pictures and décor on the walls. Honestly, that ended up being my favorite part of the experience. We’re already looking forward to coming back and trying something different next time!

Mmmm. I know people do black flips for this establishment. Not a huge fan. Service was good.
Little more attention to detail on food being served.
As far as my entree was concerned Every one’s else was good.
I will be back.

This was the most disgusting, billable meal I can remember. The Shepherds Pie was a salty, pile of gooey meaty mess. I think, maybe there were 2 or 3 peas in it and a small scoop of potatoes on top. Really disgusting that they served this and I PAID for it.
Wish I would have taken a picture to show you.

the atmosphere was great.

We stopped by between 6 and 7 on a Friday night and thought for sure there would be a long wait. To our amazement, we were seated quickly even though it was really busy. The staff was friendly and helpful, all while keeping up with a pretty frantic pace.

We started out with the Irish chips, which were delicious. One of us had the Guiness beef sandwich and the other had the turkey, bacon, avocado club. Both sandwiches were really good. Fresh ingredients and flavorful combinations.

On top of great food, the atmosphere is really comfortable and the building is gorgeous. Definitely worth a visit. We would certainly visit again if we are in the area.

We had a great dinner here last week! My aunt and uncle brought us here. There was a bit of a wait which seemed crazy for a Monday night but we survived. lol Our food was amazing. I was disappointed that there was only one Irish cider on tap but at least it’s Magners. The place was packed and really loud but we had a pleasant dinner would definitely go back again when we are in town next.

Just a dude who loves food
If you are going to go to kellehers go during the holiday season! The decorations are amazing; it feels like the north pole or somewhere in Ireland! Made a reservation the other day so no issues getting seated. It was packed since Mr and Mrs Claus were visiting ( yes I got a selfie with her ) big portions! It’s definitely worth the visit. My party and I had a couple of boxes to go home with us.

I’m going to base my review on my food. I had the Turkey Avocado Club on a pretzel bun and wedges. So much bacon(yum!) and the wedges were cooked perfectly. I liked the lemonade and the Crab Crunchers were amazing, hot or cold (as I found out the next day). My only complaint is that the appetizer came out at the same time as the food. Not a problem, really. My wife had the Dublin Steak Burger. She was surprised to get the top slice of the green pepper. She thought they’d be diced. She echoed my thoughts on the wedges and crab crunchers. My adult son had the Maple Chicken Sandwich, waffle fries and Pepperjack Bites. Not a fan of the sandwich at all! The waffle fries were okay but he said the wedges were amazing. He liked the bites but was raving about the Crab Crunchers. I had the Butterbeer and he had the Harvest Moon. The Butterbeer tasted like pure bourbon and the moon tasted like vodka with egg foam. My son said it smelled like wet dog. I am not basing my review on something I rarely do. We will all be back!

We came upon this place by chance. The vinegrette salad dressing was amazing. Absolutely love the hot honey chicken sandwich. Atmosphere was cool. We’ll be back.

It was a relatively quiet Tuesday night when I was there. My dinner was served in 5 minutes (presumably because they make the “Chicken Hot Pot” in large batches ready to go). The inside woodwork is cool – it feels very original and old.
