It’s far more than a restaurant—it’s an OUTSTANDING event venue!
If you are looking for venue for a special event such as a wedding or reception, I highly encourage you to book with Keeler’s Neighborhood Steakhouse in Carefree. Not only does this local establishment have amazingly good food, but it is served by very professional, attentive servers, bartenders all supported by an incredible management team. Our daughter and son-in-law had been enjoying Keeler’s for date night’s and such for quite a while, so when they mentioned they wanted to have their wedding ceremony and reception there, we felt it was an excellent choice. The wedding ceremony was originally planned to be on the rooftop patio with the reception to be held in the xeriscape outdoor courtyard. The event was held mid-October–which is typically a good month for an outdoor wedding as far as weather is concerned. From the moment the venue was booked, Julia, the restaurant’s event coordinator, was superb to work with to plan everything out for the entire event—Julia provided us great confidence it would be an amazing wedding location. Oddly, the three days prior to the wedding AND the day OF the wedding, Arizona pulled a fast one on us and had horrible wind and rain storms—dumping tons of rain in the valley/Carefree area—which is very rare. Although our family became very anxious about the upcoming event with the weather problems, we were so grateful and pleased at how the management and staff of Keeler’s jumped into high gear and scrambled to relocate everything for the entire event to the inside bar/restaurant/dining area for us. Julia, is such a hardworking and friendly event coordinator. She worked quickly with Steve the GM, and Sunny the Assistant GM to coordinate changes to accommodate the bad weather. In the end, the staff moved all the decorations, the ceremony arch, candles and flowers inside and put it together beautifully. The inside area was so gorgeous in fact, the extended family and guests were shocked the event wasn’t intended to be held inside from the beginning!! The reception was kicked off with unique and delicious cocktails, accompanied by a nice wine and beer selection served up by the talented bartenders Sean and Sierra. They were so attentive to the guests’ drink needs—which made for a fun and relaxing event. The reception menu options were vast and expertly prepared by chef David. It was all delicious and fresh. Michael M, Michael R and Drew were our 3 food servers. They were professional and moved throughout the dining area subtly making sure to get food served hot and then promptly clearing away the dishes. The food, beverages and staff of Keeler’s in the warm and inviting architecture and décor of the facility nestled into the beautiful backdrop of the desert landscape makes Keeler’s the PERFECT place to hold a wedding, reception, or extra special event! Book them. You’ll be glad you did!

Our experience with Keelers has always been a mixed bag; good to great food, professional service and nice space in the Spanish Village area of Carefree.

After our last visit I was confident it would be our last. Nice dinner, terrible greeters and price points that simply don’t justify the experience. There are MUCH better options in the area.

Still, we thought the Thanksgiving dinner (buffet) in beautiful Carefree would be nice. $85 pp++. As always, the greeters are woefully unprepared to deal with customers; we simply didn’t want the table offered and asked to be switched. After much delay and unnecessary handwringing, a suitable table was suddenly located. No thanks, no graciousness to a party preparing to spend $500. Not a good look.

Service was excellent, wine selection was agreeable and the food (particularly the prime rib) was excellent. Buffet though was a clumsy, single sided affair that had mixed chafing dishes and food presented unprofessionally; shrimp in a large bowl at the end of line, by the carving station? Tiny bowl of cocktail sauce? Cranberry sauce and gravies in the same tub???

Desserts were advertised as “chefs pastries”. In fact they were store bought items, cut into small servings (brownies, cheesecake, magic cookie bars, pumpkin pie). Good, but not unique and very not from a place aspiring to be great ($85 pp). Coffee was extra and very good.

I looked past all of this because the food was good and the server was kind and efficient. Never saw or was approached by a manager during our visit. Again, at this price point, they should be touching ALL tables.

That’s all. Our final visit to Keelers. I maintain this space would be better served as a neighborhood bistro with good drinks and food at more modest price points. Either way, it will be without our patronage.

Hailey was the best server!! She was incredibly attentive, genuine, and very pleasant to talk to. The food was amazing. We had the salmon, petite filet, braised short ribs and gelato and flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Absolutely beautiful views on the rooftop. We will be back for sure! Highly recommend.

I have never in my life been treated the way I was treated at this “upscale” establishment. My wife and I were visiting Cave Creek an wanted a nice dinner so we decided to go here. The seating was fast and the ambiance was great, that’s where the great ended. Our waiter came to our table after about 15 minutes of sitting, wanted to take out FULL order right off the bat and seemed upset we wouldn’t oblige. We ordered apps and drinks, our apps showed up in about 15 minutes, the 2 drinks about 15 minutes after our appetizers. We had to check with the bus boy on the status of our drinks, shortly after our waiter returned with our drinks. He took our dinner order when he brought our drinks, this was the LAST time he spoke to us! 2 hours at this establishment and we saw the waiter 2 times! No asking if we wanted another drink, no asking for refills of water, no asking if we wanted dessert nothing. It even started raining on us and we had to find our own table and move all of our dishes ourselves. Absolutely insane. We had to chase down another waiter just to get our ticket so we could leave this dump. Very graciously our original waiter presented me with a $170 tab and let me know I didn’t need to tip him because his service was so poor. What a joke.

I’m a few days late, but I need to share the exceptional service my family and I experienced on Saturday (01/24) night. Of course the food was great and all staff was amazing, but there were 2 standouts that deserve recognition. Sierra & Claire (I hope I got their names right, I’m terrible with names) were the bartenders working the upstairs terrace that night. They helped make my birthday special despite mother nature making things difficult with random rain and wind. They went to great lengths to ensure my parents and I were warm, covered, and well taken care of. Big thanks to them for making sure we were taken care of!

Four of us had dinner outside by the fireplace. We were quickly greeted by our server, Claire. She was so informative about the menu options and gave us some of her favorites. She recommended a bottle of Malbec for the ladies. The Malbec did not disappoint. I ordered the seabass, another had the porkchop, another had the French dip and one had a steak. All four meals received high praise. The atmosphere was great and the service was the best we’ve had in a long time.

We were visiting from out of town and Keeler’s was recommended by our resort. It was a really fun evening. Our server Hailey took great care of us and made the evening even better. Drinks came out promptly, we were able to enjoy apps just the right amount of time before the entrees came out. The portion sizes were plenty and the bill was quite reasonable for what we had.

Very pleasant dining experience, solid service and atmosphere. We like the feel of the location.

Food was mixed-spinach dip, tomato and mozzarella salad excellent appetizers, filet and baby back ribs excellent main plates;
Asparagus an excellent side. Really enjoyed the ribs!

The NY strip and the Prime Rib were more “OK..”

So, mixed on the menu. Overall an enjoyable evening!

Fabulous happy hour, every single day, including Sauvignon Blanc and steak tartare. The loaded fries are incredible. Wonderfully fresh all around and the patio is shaded + misted.

What a wonderful experience! We ordered the pork chop (perfect char), crab cake and crème brûlée on our server’s recommendation! Speaking of our server, ALEX, he was phenomenal! He added a note of friendliness and humor to our evening. If you go to Keelers – ask for ALEX!
