Ok food, bad manager attitude.

Having heard about old town Torrance, I’m excited to see so many food places, except almost none have outdoor seating. However this place does.

But here’s the problem. The manager.

I had been there once before and the wait staff is super nice. So I can’t fault them. And the fish tacos are good.

But then there’s this one guy. The manager? Loud. Drunk. Aggressive. Usually he ignores people unless you know him.

So again, for my second time I brought my service dog. And it was one problem after another.

First was the customer outside who drunkenly explained my little dog could not come in despite the law saying otherwise. Second was the doorman who had no clue and had to get permission to let us in. Then we did get in and went to the patio as instructed. But that’s when manager loudly and aggressively came toward me in a huff with a cocktail in hand exclaiming with slurred words that I cannot have a small bottle of water for the dog, yet not offering us a small bowl for example. And had me literally put it outside on the public sidewalk. I was calm, quiet, and compliant. So he really had no reason to behave the way he did. Be nice and ask nicely. But no.

Who knows? Maybe he was having a bad day before I got there and decided to take it out on me. I really can’t say what would justify this behavior. So I brushed it off.

Then as we sat by the fire pit he said we couldn’t sit there with the dog. So we moved to another table. And finally the waitress came over to tell us the kitchen was closed despite it being around 8pm.

We simply got up and left. Never to return. And went across the street to the new Japanese Gaburi chicken who has drinks and food to 11pm and even brought a treat and water bowl for the dog. Plus their food is fantastic.

My advice: skip Keegan’s and go to Gaburi. In fact go anywhere else than Keegan’s. Give your business to someone who values you.

A spacious place to chill in Torrance. They do have all the regular domestic and foreign beers. The outstanding feature is the backyard, where there’s enough space for a party of a hundred to sing karaoke, play games, or just lounge around. Highly recommended.

I walked into this establishment and asked to use the bathroom. I was asked if I was dining in and I explained I was waiting for another shop to open across the street but just needed a restroom real quick. I offered to buy a soda and the young woman working (Sunday 12/14 @ 11:30am) told me she’d have to ask management. Ummm ok? I offered to be a patron of your establishment and I probably wouldn’t have even drank the soda but I would have tipped on the bill, whatever it happened to be. Not very welcoming. Seems like it could be a cool neighborhood watering hole. I’m a sports guy and would have loved to come back at a later date to catch a game. I won’t now.

We went here after the Chargers game to watch the Sunday night NFL game. Food was great, drinks were good, and everything was affordable and wait staff was great. We will come back on our next trip to LA

Keegans is an open fresh bar, with indoor and outdoor seating, can sit at the U shaped bar and the customers are all up for a chat , we had good clean draft beer off the two and ordered lunch , the club sandwich and pork tacos , both were good . The place has a relaxed feel and would recommend for a quiet beer and meal , be a great spot to go with mates and watch a sports game .

Ok, lets get the Atmosphere 3 star out of the way.. stopped in one evening and they had the awnings out and umbrellas up.. it was a very nice cozy atmosphere. But then it started to get dark and the closed everything up (mind you it wasn’t windy, I was watching for that) and the temperature changed instantly. It was now colder and dit now just haven’t like chairs on an asphalt parking lot, it lost all its charm and true warmth..

Food is good but nothing to special..

Our server was great and it seemed most if not all the servers gave great service..

I’ll probably go back as it is walking distance, but when they close the canopy for evening I will be leaving

The staff was really great with accommodating for our large party. The food was amazing!! I still keep thinking about their chipotle sauce and sweet potato fries. Note: It did come with another half of the sandwich but I dove right into the meal it smelled so good!

Awesome venue with much potential. Unfortunately the food was lackluster, undercooked and just tasteless. The staff was inattentive, it appeared to be well staffed but waitresses seemed to be distracted. If you are looking for a sit down restaurant this is not the place for you.

Keegans is your neighborhood bar – efficient service and great patio area with screens to watch whatever game is happening. So for context, we went two days after the 2020 election. They had “politics free” signs up everywhere, and quite frankly, it seemed like every customer there appreciated that because conversations were very laid back, jovial, and relaxed. Good selection of well drinks, beers, and food. Need ID to enter, and as of Nov 2020, dine-in rules require you order food with your drinks.
