Absolute gem of a restaurant, not to be overlooked. Cozy atmosphere, quick service and reasonable prices. The staff was very friendly.
The whole wheat bagel with ham, egg and cream cheese was DELICIOUS. They do not skimp on their offerings. Perfect ratio of protein to carbs and the bagel itself tasted fresh and wholesome. Definitely recommend!

So, I am a paying customer who’s come into this shop fairly regularly for nearly a year…
who has sat here in the past on my laptop after making a purchase, doing my work, a few times. I won’t be returning after today. Today, a big group of men came in and decided to sit outside bc there wasn’t enough room for all of them after lumping the furniture and all of a sudden, after I was alone because they’d went outside, the ‘dad’ came from the back and yelled at me, saying ‘please! I’m losing customers’ and I thought to myself, ‘yes, that’s true. You will lose customers but not the ones you think you’ll lose.’
I highly doubt he would have yelled at any man in the way he yelled at me. It was disturbing, and I honestly don’t really want to eat here after interacting with him based upon his energy alone. The guys just went outside because it was a big group, and there was no reason whatsoever to come to the table where I was sitting and an explosion of verbal diarrhea like he did.
Also—
It is noteworthy to add that I’ve come and made purchases here several times, having coffee, salads, bagels, ect and have never caused any issue, I am ALWAYS polite and pay and tip, but the food is MID on a good day, the cheesecake is GROSS like it’s made with low quality ingredients and/or possibly has gone bad and the coffee tastes totally offensive (worst than McDonald’s and gas station cofffee) unless it’s doused with creamers and sugar.
The main reason I came in so much before and proximity to my home so convenience .. annd before ? Atmosphere which was MID but this atmosphere is no longer is it in any way shape or form at all acceptable. I don’t think it’s too much to ask for a social environment that isn’t suddenly hostile for literally no reason.
Honestly, I wish I had better things to say because it’s a virtue to be polite. That’s the only way the world slightly works.. but I expect so much better than this. I worked at a cafe years ago and this would not have happened there because I am truly a nice person who again, has not caused anyone to lose customers.. ever.. and so, from now on, i am going to just go to Starbucks which is three minutes away. I miss their sausage egg wraps with sciracha anyway.

We order from here every weekend, and their Taylor ham, egg, and cheese is absolutely amazing every single time! The quality is always consistent, fresh, and delicious. They also offer delivery, which makes it super convenient. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Highly recommend this place!

I have been visiting Kearny Deli for a few months now, so this review is well overdue. I have tried a variety of food here and everything is always above expectations! Everything is always fresh. Today, I am enjoying a tomato and spinach omelet on a toasted Portuguese roll accompanied by a fresh brewed latte. The bread is fresh, soft and warm… the omelet cooked perfectly .. Latte is always so good! And what really makes the place great besides the food, are the wonderful folks who cater to you here. Very pleasant, warm and welcoming people. Come here enough they’ll start to feel like extended family LOL.
But hey dont take my word for it… foodies, yelpers, etc… you need to get here and put this place on the map! Kearny Deli DOES NOT DISSAPPOINT!

Went here after a friend recommended it to me and I have been going back almost every week since. I always do a bacon, egg, and cheese and it’s always amazing! Overall it’s just a great spot with an absolutely lovely staff, good prices, and most importantly good food. I can’t recommend it enough!
Update (9/12/24): It’s been a few years let’s add more to the old review shall we. At this point this deli is a mainstay in Kearny and I’ll tell you the key to their success and their continued success going forward.
1. Outstanding customer service, having a good relationship with the customer is everything and these folks know how to do it. It’s always bright smiles and good service.
2. Fresh high quality food and boy let me tell ya, you can taste the difference! Guy at the counter was telling me he comes in early everyday so he can make muffins fresh. That is dedication to your business, to your product, and to your customers.
These people are going to treat you right and they are going to get you some good food stop by and don’t skip out on the homemade muffins.

Was in Newark for a baseball tournament with my son and drove here for a Bacon, Egg and Cheese on a Roll – and it was well worth the drive! Great food, pricing and friendly staff. 5 Stars!
