Solid local divey breakfast dive spot. Got the KD special or something like that. Eggs, two sausage patties, biscuit and grits with coffee. Mom’s got the two pancake plate. Food was good. Grits required salt and butter but good once hooked up. Biscuit was average. Sausage patties were solidly porky. Pancakes were huge. Soft and good. Felt like a real local spot. All that food was less that $20. Came out quick, service was friendly. Would make it a staple when in Lake Charles.

Yesterday, I had a KD’s Special poboy. It was delicious. It came out promptly and exactly the way I’d ordered. The waitress was accommodating and attentive. It’s always a relaxed scene during the day. It gets 4 stars on atmosphere because the staff were talking loudly about work (critically) and the warehouse-ish “cool white” lightbulbs are harsh on the eyes. The booths are always comfortable, and the moderate noise level is what’s to be expected (and some of the charm) of a diner.

First time eating at this diner. Service was amazing our server was very nice and polite and helpful with questions that we had. inside it does look like an old-time diner, which was pretty cool and cozy. It is minimum seating so we did have to wait a little bit, which is totally fine with us. Food came out perfect of what we ordered for breakfast and the food was delicious. Definitely not disappointed and definitely would recommend this to others. We will totally come back.

KD’s Diner had excellent service and a warm, comfortable atmosphere. It is a small place, but it feels welcoming. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were larger than I expected. The only thing I was not happy with was the bathroom. It did not seem very clean and could have been better maintained.

This place is a must go to when you’re in Lake Charles. Forget those casino places, come here instead. The breakfast is fresh and homemade tasting. The prices are right. They even have three slot machine machines you can gamble on if you’re bored. The place is open 24 hours a day too.
The only thing is the place is small so it’s usually busy in the breakfast hours and you may be waiting for a short time before a table is available.

Perfect hash browns and yummy biscuits and gravy. This is such a cute dinner. Reminded me of the diner my grandfather used to take me to when I was a little girl. The seats ant the counter and the booths gave is a nostalgic diner vibe. Every table was full but we only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. I’ll go here every time I come to Lake Charles.

We stopped here on our way back home and the staff was very welcoming. The place was packed (that was a good sign) so we were offered to sit outside under the covered area. That worked out perfect for us because the weather was a crisp 75 degrees. The food was great and came out in a timely manner.
