I may as well have just thrown away $18. This is the first Vietnamese restaurant I’ve tried now that I’m back in Michigan I am not happy at all.

I lived in San Francisco for 12 years and I KNOW I’ve been spoiled when it comes to Asian food. But this?

I wanted to treat myself and so I looked in the area and found this restaurant. 4+ stars. I was excited because I missed having the pork chop plate that I was so accustomed to back in SF. I ordered at the counter and a tiny, excitable woman told me they didn’t have spring rolls which I thought was weird because they’re on the menu . Fine. (Later I asked one of the young employees and they said that they do have spring rolls on the weekends only)

I ordered a couple of eggrolls because the pork chop dish was going to take about a half hour. She brought the egg rolls and they were fine. They were small.

Normally, when I would order a pork chop, I would get two slices of pork chop that had been tenderized with a mallet and marinated for days. They were delicious. I could often simply eat them with my chopsticks because they were so tender. They were served with rice, tomatoes, and cucumbers, fresh basil and sometimes mint, and fish sauce.

When I received this plate, there was a fried egg on it, the pork chop was tough and had no flavor. It wasn’t even the correct color.

There was a decent sized mound of rice, but they PEPPERED it! Pepper does not belong on rice with Asian food. That’s why there are no pepper shakers on the tables in Asian restaurants. There was a small plastic container, partially filled with some kind of sweet sauce that I believe was honey. Fish sauce has a lovely sweet flavor and a tang to it that suit the pork chop perfectly, but I didn’t get to enjoy that because I got honey “sauce” instead. Seriously. Plain honey.

The carrots and tomato were tossed in vinegar. What?

It was flavorless and dry and the rice being peppered, was inedible. I will not come back here and I don’t recommend it to anyone else. I’m so disappointed. Now I have to go find another place to eat because I have to get this taste out of my mouth.

Broth is ok, but they are so skimpy with the ingredients. The quality and portion size is definitely not worth spending $15.

I asked for more cilantro when the food came out, and the owner lady refused and said I should’ve asked for it when ordering. There were only 3 tables including myself, so the place wasn’t even that busy.

I came here because Dalat is closed today, but today will be my last time visiting.

A lot to like about K&D. Service was great. Two cute family kids ran the counter and when the owner (?) brought us our food, she offered us some pears to take home. Food was very good and I’m glad they offer vegetarian pho and banh mi options. I also liked that it is fast-casual style, so no need to wait on staff and saves us a bit of money. The portion sizes are smaller, but cheaper and surprisingly filling, still. Only minor complaint is the ice coffee, which was 1/3 coffee, 2/3 ice. I literally finished it in two sips. It was good, though.

Came with a large group (10+) and these people were so kind and helpful with the menu and service. The pho was pho-nomenal 🙂 #19 was recommended as many of us got that and we all loved it. The eggrolls were perfect aswell.

Absolutely delicious banh mi! My boyfriend and I come in for lunch pretty often on Saturdays and get the Bahn Mi #2 combo and it never disappoints!! Staff is so lovely and dedicated to providing good food and excellent service! Can not recommend enough!

The pho soup was tasty, (not bad nor amazing) but the portion was too small. I ordered extra noodles and extra meat but the additional servings looked smaller than a regular serving at any other pho place I’ve visited. I took the photo before even touching the first bite. So disappointing. Also, the ice machine at the foundation was off-putting due to old, dark soda residues. I don’t think I would visit again.

Pho + Bahn mi and 2 egg rolls for $25 is a great deal. The egg rolls are tiny, just be aware. Gluten free pho option is great. Don’t listen to the psycho lady who keeps talking about San Francisco in all her reviews.

$16 bucks not even full not much food for the price, I’m head to Ann Arbor next time. Not much basil, Oklahoma City they give you a bunch of it and bean sprouts too, not here. I got extra beef in it, and there wasn’t a lot of noodles either. It was basically just a bowl of water. I’ll definitely won’t be back and there was no one inside the restaurant.

I was craving Vietnamese food this weekend. I wanted to try a new place, and I absolutely loved the vegetarian Pho, the Vietnamese iced coffee, and the honeycomb cake. Everything exceeded my expectations, and the cook is a wonderful woman. I plan to make this my go-to spot since it was a lovely experience with a relaxed, clean, and calm atmosphere. Thank you for your gracious and lovely service.

Simple menu with some delicious Pho, served with a smile. The chef prepares their broth authentically with no concentrates and letting it cook for 24 hours. The portion sizes are just enough with their meat and other toppings being fresh. I heard that on the weekends, they serve a rotating specialty dish that is freshly made with limited availability. Looking forward to visiting then!
