We were visiting in nearby Surfside Beach from New York and found KC’s on an internet search. It was a half hour drive but WELL worth the trip. Awesome meats and the homemade sauce was served warm. SO good. The pecan and sweet potato pies were also homemade and very good. Glad we stopped by.

The worst bbq I have ever had. We chose to go here because they have 5 stars. I have no idea how!?! I can only think that since they are open Friday and Saturday only that they served me sausage and brisket from last Friday! It was so dry I could easily compare it to shoe leather, but you can see for yourself in the pictures. Not only was the meat extremly dry, the sauce was mostly vinagar and my baked potatoe was to salty, on top of having to spit out dry chunks of chopped brisket that were to tough to even chew. The coleslaw was only chopped cabage , no dressing. The rice was bland but palatable. The only things that were ok were the sliced bread, onions abd dill pickle chips.

Bathrooms are horrible, so hold it if you can. Ribs tasted old and tough. Brisket was cold with burnt ends. First and last time eating there. 0 stars is a more accurate rating. Going to Kenjos… at least the food is fresh.

Delicious mom and pop hole in the wall. I almost didn’t get out of the car since it looked sort of dark. The sweet tea says made with love. The ribs were falling off the bone good. Sauce was sweet but not overpowering the meat flavor. The place is simple but very clean, tables nicely distanced and despite the off hour, there were 2 other tables, and there were masks all around.

The brisket was super bland and did not taste fresh at all. The air conditioner inside the building (window unit) wasn’t working either so it was 90 degrees. All sides were microwaved. Much better bbq at countless other places.

Loved This restaurant the BBQ was pure perfection and i still can’t get over the Dirty Rice and The Sweet Potatoe Pie y’all are the Best BBQ place I’ve eaten through out Matagorda County and all surrounded counties keep up the Great Cooking hope to see y’all soon. Ribs just awesome and the Brisket

Man oh man, do they make good food and the pies, well, we started buying by the whole. They’re close to our fishing cabin and I’m afraid if they were close to our home we’d have trouble getting through the door in no time. Really you’ve got to eat here.

Everything is good, the ribs are the best and so is the brisket. This is barbecue like it should be done. I’ve been all over Texas and I still use KC as the standard. Great food and great folks.
