This mostly a carry out place but the menu choices were pretty elegant. Our counter-guy & server was helpful, friendly & attentive. The seating area was quiet at 6 pm on a Wednesday night but we watched the interesting sidewalk traffic from our window seats. The food was excellent!

Wow these are some really well developed flavors! Their sauces are complex, and keep you wanting more. The restaurant is made up of two main sections, a counter to order at and a small seating area next door. It wasn’t too busy when we went here, and we had no problem finding an open table. Many people were actually getting food to go. The portions were great and we all left full, with some leftovers.

Got the Hire Katsu takeout- WOW!! This was phenomenal! The pork was so tender, the pickle was wonderful, the rice was perfect, and the cabbage salad with the black sesame dressing was to die for. Will 100% be back soon.

Wonderful food that was cooked to perfection. Family of 5 ordered 4 entrees 2 drinks and a small plate to share was around 80 dollars. Food portions were great and no one left hungry. Chicken katsu and chicken katsu curry were amazing. Tempura battered was perfect! Not greasy as well.

There are tons of seating options! Food is delicious and serving sizes are pretty big, especially for it being kimbap and price. Very filling handicap accessible !

I don’t have any pictures when I dined in, but I have had food from KCM 3 times and I love it every single time. The food is really fresh. I have had both the Hire Katsu Curry (basically deep-fried cronchy pork with curry) and Chicken Katsu Curry and the flavor of the curry is really deep and strong. It certainly is not overwhelming on your taste buds, but the taste and smell really make you wanna drool all over. I also had both the Smoked Salmon Kimbap and Tuna&Crab Salad Kimbap, and I must say, those are huge, it makes me full just half of one Kimbap. The Smoked Salmon and Egg Toast here is also good, actually my recent favorite. Salmon feels nice quality if you get what I mean, doesn’t have any foul odor. Their food are all really nicely fit with each other, the portions are quite big and enough to fill your stomach, price is reasonable. The place is really neat and clean, service was great, they make sure you get what you need and be there to help. As I have already mentioned, I have eaten and comeback here many times so totally should check this place out.

In town visiting friends and was looking for a local place to eat. Saw that KCM had some great reviews (particularly people mentioning the chicken katsu curry). I also split an order of the spicy seafood kimbap. The food was delicious and would highly recommend stopping by for a meal!

I get take out here so often that they know my name I’d be embarrassed, but it’s easily the best take out in Grand Rapids. My go-tos are Chicken Katsu, Spicy Butadon, and Spicy Kimbap if I want something lighter.

This restaurant is one of the best in Grand Rapids. The food is phenomenal: perfectly tender, crispy katsu; perfectly cooked rice; delicious pickles; amazing Japanese curry; and the slaw with black sesame dressing is out of this world. I highly recommend asking for a side of Japanese mustard if you appreciate the pungency of horseradish. Don’t miss out on this amazing place.
