Ordered from pigwich. Food was decent but the service was atrocious. I have never met a more rude server in my entire life. Didn’t catch her name but she was a middle aged woman , maybe 5 foot tall, with a short blonde bob. I experienced a frustrating incident and was explaining the situation to another worker (who was very kind) and she then inserted herself and got really defensive. She claimed to have asked me really nicely to move (because she didn’t want me sitting at one of her tables even though there wasn’t anyone waiting to be sat or even to order) and when I stated that I never mentioned anything about her being rude to me she then said “well you’re complaining like I was” it was super unnecessary and did not help deescalate the issue.

Went to the City Market Coffee Roasters. Line was long but moved quickly, service was very friendly. My original burrito was hot and fresh tasting. While a good, basic breakfast burrito, it would have been better with the salsa (but that was forgotten). Also small for the price but probably normal for airports. Coffee was great as was the pastry, ‘poptart’ was good sized. Will visit again.

Let me start my saying I Love Kansas City and have enjoyed going into each of these local businesses at their locations.
But the experience at airport is very average. Look at these Menu cards.. which are barely surviving. Why can’t these be laminated as the basic standard?
Buffalo State Pizza ran out of options on their menu, so they repeated “Le Royale” again.
Disappointed to see Boulevard (one of my favorite brewery) print their menu on lousy print paper.
I understand this is a new airport, but these are basics to get the Customer Experience right. I wish they up their game as we surely can do better.

Had a short layover in Kansas City so the family and I stopped at the Market City for dinner. We enjoyed meals from Taste of Brazil. Service was good. Food was delicious and so flavorful!!! Really enjoyed my beef sandwich. Would definitely visit again.

Had two biscuits: bacon, egg and cheese and sausage, egg and cheese. Biscuits were hard. Not quite hockey pucks, but slightly burned. Each bite had a HARD crunch. The nacho cheese product overwhelmed the flavor. Friendly bartender at the Boulevard Brewing Company bar. I should’ve checked the Google reviews before I ordered.

Inedible, unfortunately. Got an $18 “Brazilian” platter and wasn’t able to eat even 1/3 of it. Beans tasted burned, white rice is sticky and tasteless. Sauce was not traditional. Meat was salty. Not Brazilian food at all. Sad to have gotten the most expensive plate and it wasn’t even worth $4.

Barbecue, border wars, Bo lings. The three things that make Kansas City the truly above average city it is. As a lifetime Bo Lings aficionado, it is my duty to inform the people how this newest establishment in Mr. Lings culinary empire compares to the rest. We’ll explore this question by examining the key aspects of their signature dish, General Tso’s chicken: Presentation, rice, broccoli, chicken, sauce and price.
Presentation
Served in the same paper bowl as the $18 salad place you’re girlfriend makes you go but, anything to reduce the plastics in our oceans (did you know 80% of ocean plastic is from the fishing industry? We hate bycatch here in KC). Not up to the standard of Mr. Lings primary eateries but this is to be expected for airport cuisine. 6/10.
Rice
Not quite up to the “fresh outta the steam shower” feel we’re used to from Mr. Ling’s rice, but does put the Baltimore airport Panda Express to shame. 7/10.
Broccoli
Who eats this? -/10.
Chicken
The chicken… the chicken. Mr. Ling don’t miss when it comes to chicken. The man wrote the book one tender nuggets, and his latest edition is no exception. Tender, juicy, perfectly sized at 1-2 inches (or so my girlfriend says). 9/10.
Sauce
Mr. Ling was handed down the sauce recipe from General Tso himself while on his deathbed after a battle during the opium wars. It’s his legacy and, some say, the greatest export to ever come from China (second and third being gunpowder and Mao Zedong bobble heads respectively). On the recipe’s journey to the new terminal of KCI airport, unfortunately, it appears a piece of the recipe was lost while hitting potholes up I-29. It lacked the consistency and flavor that has become synonymous with Bo Lings. 7/10.
Price
For the same price as one 25 oz beer at the K, you can hop the North Korean border south, make your way past the Great Wall and have a true Chinese experience in the heart of your newest Midwest layover destination. 8/10.

My apple danish and latte were a good snack.

The breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon was not good at all. The bacon was really hot but not cooked at all, and the ciabatta roll was so hot the corners got hard as it cooked down. The coffee and tea drinks are not good at all either. There is no place in the whole airport to get any coffee drinks.

I ordered the east bottom burger w sweet potatoes fries and was immediately given a reg hamburger and fries. The server quickly changed the order. She was very pleasant.
The food was barely edible. The burger was hard and over cooked. The fries were barely warm. It was supposed to be served on an onion bun – it came on a too small stale bun.
The menu was filthy! The tables grimy. The music so loud people had to shout to talk to each other.
For $27.62 you’re better off going to the overpriced BBQ next door.
