I really really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately I can’t.
The portion sizes are quite small when compared to ANY other BBQ place. The prices, however, are slightly higher than average for BBQ joint. $8.50 for a brisket sandwich isn’t bad if it includes a side and, you know, brisket. Unfortunately the sandwiches are school lunch sized at best and don’t include a side. The mac and cheese side posted is a MEDIUM size side and costs $5. This size side is included with a sandwich at literally every other BBQ place I have ever been to, and I’ve been to a lot.
The waitress also upsold my 6 year old on a dessert without asking me first. I figured it was included in his kid’s meal due to how she was acting. I was surprised when they charged $2 for a not-good rice krispie treat/brownie concoction.
Food was mediocre, a C- at best. Mostly US Foods reconstituted fare. Sonny’s or Q Dogs (on Saturdays for brisket) are much MUCH better, unfortunately.

Pretty good bbq. Weekend burnt ends were tender and their bbq sauces brought it all home. Look forward to my next visit. Fried green tomatoes were a perfect starter. Sat on porch and listened to music from band across the street. Nice start to a Saturday .

Fantastic service for a local low-key anniversary dinner. Tender ribs, amazing sides, great pulled pork, and BBQ sauce. Although we only ate about half the food we somehow squeezed in a cherry bomb(moist chocolate surrounding a cherry) each for dessert.

Best Brisket I think I have ever eaten. Very reasonably priced and portions are large.

This is a really quaint place to have lunch or dinner. There is a nice story on the take out menus that tells the journey of the owners. A cool American dream story. I like to eat in these type places. It is more personal then going to a food chain establishment.
We ordered the sample plate for two. The brisket was my favorite. It melted in your mouth. The sides were very tasty. You can tell it was all homemade.
The owners came out to our porch seating to chat with us.
We had a very charming late lunch!

Being from the Kansas City BBQ area and wanting so hard to find BBQ that tastes like home, we tried KC Que a second time. Again, I was disappointed by the pork (both the pulled pork and the ribs), it tastes sweet, like a bunch of sugar was added and no smoke flavor comes through at all….pork should be savory and smokey. Most of the sides are pretty good, but it looks like I must continue my quest for decent BBQ.

I tried kc que for the first time about two months ago. It was by far the best brisket I have found since I moved to the Tampa Bay area. On Saturday, after working an 11 hour shift, I called in an order for 1lb of this mouth watering brisket. I was almost drooling on my drive to pick it up. I picked up the brisket and drove 20 min home. When I got home, I made a plate and topped it with my favorite sweet bbq sauce. I took a bite and was immediately disappointed. It had way too much seasoning on it. The meat was completely dried out and the portion size did not seem like a pound of meat. I spent 18.00 on a pound of brisket that resembled nothing of the brisket I had about 2 months before. I felt like I was given leftovers.
Did they get a new chef?? Not sure what else could cause such a drastic decline in quality. I don’t think I will be going back there.
My hunt for delicious brisket continues!

Family-owned. These folks are award-winners – literally. Food is excellent and staff is very friendly. Not cheapest, but plenty of food. Hard to find (currently, but moving in August), but well worth effort and odd hours (Fri / Sat only). Understand this family does this primarily for the love of BBQ – not to make a living, so, don’t bring your “Disney Land” expectations – no Mickey Mouse here, just excellent ribs, chicken, brisket and pulled pork served with a smile to thems who can behave like grownups. The greens are fresh – hand-made and well seasoned. Potato salad is unusual and also quite good. Ribs are what ribs should be and so rarely are. I pray the new larger location and wider hours do not tarnish this little gem.

Another great find in the Tarpon Springs area. Just off the sponge socks for the most part.
Prices were right in the ballpark of similar places. Small dining area but not crowded by any means.
Had ribs and brisket with a side of beans and Mac and Cheese.
Food was top notch and the sauces were excellent. Service seemed a little scattered but tolerable. 🙂
It almost looked closed when we got there and the entrance was somewhat hidden as we parked in the back and had to figure out which way to go to even find it. Not something that would keep me away at all though.
I would definitely come back and try a few more items on the menu.
Make the trip…it is worth it in my book.
