We also purchased a fried chocolate pie. The filling either had homemade vanilla in it or some kind of liqueur in it that the alcohol did not cook out completely. It was still very good.
Burger – Great
Fries – Above average
Mac n cheese- Above average
10 minute wait or so, not bad at all. Nice people & great service. Totally recommend this place.
I live in Illinois and make sure to visit every time I am in the Jackson area and honestly the food is always better than I remembered! My go to is the pimento cheese burger- I like to add grilled onion- the burger patty is thin and perfectly cooked with little Lacey edges of well cooked crispy meat. The friend are crazy good- hubs loves the gyro and I always get extra taxiing sauce to dip the fries in. I really think they should add a Mediterranean fry- topped with their perfect taziki sauce, gyro meat, onion and feta- just my humble opinion. Anyhow- if you are in the area make sure to stop by and try them out!
There are very few places we go out to eat. This is definitely one.
Hope they add indoor seating someday, but it’s not even a knock. The atmosphere is still inviting and the food is 10/10 (pictured: fries, fried okra, hell fire double burger, & regular double cheeseburger)
I wouldn’t recommend the side of cheese for the fries, a dressing cup worth of mild processed cheese type sauce which I’m fine with but didn’t really mesh with the add on price.
We also tried the brisket mac and cheese which, also, not my favorite. It’s overcooked elbow mac with the same processed cheese sauce. I bet the BBQ fries or tots is a better choice.
Edited to add: I ordered online and the service was great, not more than a five minute wait. I got there right after opening but the lot was already filling up so plan ahead if you’re in a hurry. It’s popular for a reason. Looking forward to the next visit!
