We had reservations and got there right at 5 at opening. The atmosphere is comfortable and definitely has upscale steakhouse vibes. The service was fast, helpful and friendly.

The Herbalist drink was both sweet and quite spicy – an excellent pop of serrano. The Dirty Martini was an olive delight. The fig goat cheese on the warm rolls was an excellent way to prime the pallette.

For an appetizer we shared the smoked duck. The meat was savory and paired very well with the baby beets, fig jam and arugula.

My 7oz. Filet was cooked a perfect medium rare with such a delicious seared and salted crust. The lobster tail was very generous. The Prime Rib Special melted in the mouth and the Sea Bass was so meaty yet flaked right off.

Overall, this was an excellent restaurant if you have the money for it!

Our server Stephen who has worked there for 30 years was excellent, quick witted and helpful. Food was perfectly prepared. The bottle of wine was a great accompaniment to our dinner. Sitting by the warm and cozy fire on a cold night was enchanting. We were well taken care of. And did I mention dessert? It was fabulous.

I had an exceptional dining experience at KC Chop House. The atmosphere was elegant and inviting, perfect for a special night out. The steak was cooked to perfection juicy, tender, and flavorful while the sides complemented the meal beautifully. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, making excellent wine pairing recommendations. The overall service was impeccable, creating a relaxed and luxurious vibe. I highly recommend KC Chop House for anyone looking for a top-notch steakhouse experience in Kansas City.

This is the most expensive $400 dollar meal we have ever paid for and did not have any leftovers! Their steaks are broiled, not grilled, not pan seared, literally broiled. I even watched them place food in a zip lock bag, boil it, then put under broiler in a pan. The shrimp scampi was rough, chewy, over cooked, and the sauce tasted like it was very very old with freezer burn! The lamb chops were the smallest piece of meat I have ever seen on a bone! The mashed potatoes were instant out of a box I’m sure! The ginger poached pear cake- wasn’t edible! The best thing they serve is their vanilla bean ice cream! I’m sure out of a big cardboard container like an ice cream shop! Nothing is homemade or cooked like a $50 dollar price of meat should be! What a shame for such a beautiful building that’s been there that long!
I also watched our waiter tell the manager what we said about the dessert, he walked the other way away from us, avoided any eye contact, and never came to our table!

If I’m paying $53 for a Kansas City strip it ought to be outstanding…. I would rather spent my money at longhorns or Texas Roadhouse. The au gratin potatoes we’re better than the steak… But I will say they are the best all grout and potatoes I’ve ever had.
I received solid service that you’d expect for a nice steakhouse.
The restaurant has very nice tables and booths and a really nice bar.

Food was ok except the horribly rotten potato! When our waitress finally came to check on us again I request to have the potato removed from the bill as my husband lost his appetite after taking a bite of the rotten piece. I’m the dim lit room he thought it was another piece of bacon. The “manager” came over and apologized for the potato being “over cooked” in his words and offered us dessert. It was not over cooked it was definitely bad! Took almost 15 mins to get the dessert. For the price paid I wasn’t overly impressed.

We had a comp to dine here generously given by a host. We were sat right on time and were greeted by our server not long after we were sat. The service started out great. She asked if we had questions about the menu, asked about drinks, and took our order. We got our bread, but had to wait for water. My wife ordered her steak well done, which was their filet mignon. The outside was charred and the inside was close to medium. She was halfway done before we saw our server and she asked how are steaks were. The comp on my card couldn’t be found and phone calls had to be made in order to even get the comp. I felt the server thought I was not being honest about getting a comp. Overall, we probably would not dine here again

Had the roasted chicken, brussel sprouts, and the Irish coffee bomb for dessert. I spent 34 on the roasted chicken, 12 on the brussel sprouts, 10 on the dessert, and I had a vodka cranberry. Total I spent almost 77 dollars plus the tip. Expensive! The restaurant is inside of a casino.
