I recently celebrated my birthday at Kazan Sushi, Ramen & BBQ, and had a very good experience. This was my second visit, and I chose this place again because I enjoyed it the first time.
The food was tasty and nicely presented, and the staff were polite and attentive. The atmosphere is pleasant, and it’s an overall comfortable place to dine.
This time we tried the Korean BBQ and cooked everything ourselves, which was a fun addition to the meal. The waitress also wished me a happy birthday and gave me a small badge, which was a nice gesture.
I would recommend it.

Seriously under-rated spot. It’s one of my favorite spots to eat. Great food! Great portions and reasonably priced meals. I love the service and the atmosphere is beautiful to dress up or down in. Great for family setting or even a date. I have some great memories in this place and will forever visit as often as I can. Whether solo, with family or s.o.s, this restaurant is in my heart.

Went with my sister to do the Ayce bbq we were seated quickly but at our first table the grill wasn’t working so we were moved to a new table we also weren’t seated with any plates or forks at either table we had to ask for them. It took almost an hour for our first round of food, and after the first round we submitted two more but with very little food and that took another 30 minutes which is disappointing considering it’s BBQ. We cook it ourselves so I don’t understand what took so long to get to our table. Everything was also lacking in flavor the server also forgot our drinks and to top it all off when paying we noticed a roach on the wall when telling the waiter he had a bit of an attitude meanwhile we just wanted to make sure someone’s aware so they can get that situation handled before it becomes a bigger problem for the restaurant.

My husband and I have been going there since they opened and the food has always been good. This past Saturday we went there before a movie and their ramen was extremely disappointing. I’m pretty sure they switched their home-made noodle with cheap frozen ones. I had one bite and didn’t touched the rest. The Hakata tonkatsu soup base was extremely weird. It used to be white and creamy and this time is just soy sauce. My husband said he didn’t plan to go back anymore and I agreed with him. Sad to see our favorite ramen restaurant chose cheap frozen materials over flavor after doing good all these years.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Food & Stellar Service at Kazan Ramen!
My visit to Kazan Ramen at Crossgates Mall was genuinely fantastic, proving that great management and high-quality food are the keys to a top-tier dining experience.
While my visit started off a little rough—the first waitress I encountered wasn’t very friendly—the owner or manager noticed immediately. They stepped in, addressed the situation professionally, and ensured everything was proper. They even smoothly transitioned me to a new waitress who came over, introduced herself with a warm “Welcome to Kazan,” and ensured I knew she was there to take care of me. That is exactly how customer service should be done.
But the main event, as always, is the food. The cuisine here is simply impeccable, whether you’re enjoying the BBQ at your table or diving into a bowl of their signature ramen.
My personal favorite is the Seafood Ramen. The broth is nothing short of exquisite—rich, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. The seafood is always cooked to perfection, tender and fresh, and the overall consistency of the dish is always spot on.
I highly recommend Kazan Ramen. This place earns every one of its five stars for delicious food and commitment to exceptional customer care!

Kazan is a cute place. Sushi is really good and always fresh. The duck buns are my partners favorite but make sure you order them to your liking (not made in classic way) but they will add whatever you ask for. TONY IS THE MAN!!

The Ramen was AMAZING! So far it was the best we have ever had. We tried another popular ramen restaurant in Albany prior, but Kazan was much better. Also, the sushi was delicious and well made. The staff was super friendly and polite. Our waiter was super patient and answered all of our questions. The food came out quickly. The steamed duck rolls were incredible. We had a fantastic experience and plan to return. The one and only thing I would change would be to add a kids menu. It is perfect without it of course, but would be a good addition for families 🙂

My son got beef ramen and his beef was chewy. He couldn’t finish. My daughter got a beef and shrimp plate. There was no shrimp. My food was ok but the bacon tempura was greasy so I couldn’t finish. My problem is when I went to the bathroom it was dirty. When I was washing my hands a Kazan worker came out of the next stall and just wet her fingers under the water. No soap. No rinse and walked out with dirty wet hands. She then went to the hostess stand and then directly to the bar where she started using their order system. I find that completely disgusting and now I feel more sick. I doubt I will go back. I spent $178.36 and I was at table D2. The lady in the bathroom had a bob hairdo with blond highlights. Our server was Aidan and he did an amazing job so we tipped him well. That is all.

Let me be clear. The food is fantastic… that’s how it stays open. The service is atrocious. I’ve been here several times only because the food is that good. There was no silverware on the table. We had to take it from another table. Then our soup was completely forgotten, and when we confronted the waiter he said “oh, soup comes after the meal because it’s hot.” (How ridiculous does that sound). Another time we had to get up and go to the bar to get our beers because the waitress forgot them entirely. Also, my father’s order was completely incorrect, so we had to walk out.
There’s a simple sequence to running a restaurant and this place just doesn’t understand that. They didn’t provide water and they can’t even bring out each persons meal all at the same time. This is restaurant business 101.
If they don’t fix basic service, I doubt it will last. Try the great food while you can, but beware of the experience

Why the hell is this hidden gem not popping up on my “Google feed”; this kind of spot is exactly what we need in a cultural melting pot!!!
The folks here are very personable and give you a run for your money on amiability! Christina and Tashi were amazing. Definitely cared about their customers and have a love for the place they work. The dishes we ordered were as delicious as the pictures on the menu appear! (I apologize for my very poor photography skills)
