The service and staff were 10* –
I cannot begin to describe what a wonderful experience we had at Mrs.
Kaye’s. The food was perfect- every course of our meal was amazing. The exterior and small interior are deceiving- this is no frills- just a focus on well executed plates full of flavor. Every single staff and both owner and her husband all came out to greet us and check on us. The attention to customer satisfaction and conversation left us feeling like old friends.

Great food & service. The potato hash breakfast was delicious and very filling. It’s a great stop if you’re visiting Newland. We were visiting Linwood Falls and surrounding areas.

Honestly, this was a pretty good restaurant. It had very decent trout and salmon coupled with friendly service. Way too much bell pepper crept it’s way into the sides (a lot of us hate this “innocuous” vegetable with a white hot passion, chefs), but otherwise good food in a nice atmosphere.

I had a Italian sub, which was quite good. My wife had chicken soup, when she said was very good.

Kaye’s appears to be a local place, and the people were very friendly. In fact, one of the staff members came to our table and talked to us for about 5 minutes about the area, in about his experience moving to the area.

We would definitely return for a repeat visit should we ever be in the area again.

We ate here recently for the first time. I had the 10oz ribeye and my husband had the braised pork. There was just us and one other table and the food took just over an hour to come out. It was pretty good though, although I didn’t really like the rosemary on the steak, but that’s just a personal taste preference. My husband loved his berry salad side and the prices were quite affordable. Also, they present their food beautifully. The waitress was ok until the end. She was only 10 ft from us and talking to someone, which put her in plain eyesight of us, although she either ignored or still didn’t notice when we needed refills or had finished our meals. I finally waited until she was done talking and interrupted her texting to ask for the bill. Then she went back to ignoring us, so I went to her to pay.

The food was delicious. I preferred the regular fries to the sweet potato ones so I need to remember that for next time. They said at first there would be an hour wait but we were seated quickly when we split our group (at first they said we couldn’t which seems odd but they changed their minds I guess). The ambience was nice, tables pretty close together but we all enjoyed our food and I would go back again.

Such a fun and delicious restaurant! We ate here after snow tubing. Everyone was so welcoming and nice and made our family feel welcome! The food was great! We all got breakfast food except our youngest who got French fries, . The coffee tasted great too!

Let me preface this by saying that Kay’s has been my favorite restaurant in Newland with very good food and service. But today I went with a friend for lunch. The restaurant was full but few tables had food. We ordered simply a half sandwich and small salad. After an hour and a half we still hadn’t gotten our food. It seemed that those who ordered the daily special got their food despite being seated after us. I know she recently lost her chef and I’m assuming she is training new employees. I will go back in time but not for awhile. Please just be aware the wait time may be long and ordering the daily special may speed things up.

Great small town eating experience! Why traveling in the area we ate here twice, once for dinner and again for breakfast. Food was very good, people were very nice and attentive, and the ambiance was very enjoyable for a small town restaurant. Highly recommend.
