Do you enjoy healthy gluten free and/or vegan pastries and more? YOU HAVE TO GO HERE!
Super cute coffee shop with in/out door seating. Friendly vibe and cool people (both the workers and the customers).
Excellent place to chill at or stop by on your way to adventure. If you’re not a tourist, make it a part of your morning routine.
I’ve tried many of their dishes from sweet to savory and I’ve loved them all!

Tucked along the Hawaii Belt Road, this charming coffee shop is a must-visit for breakfast. With convenient parking available right next to the shop, it’s easy to stop by. They offer a great selection of vegetarian and vegan options, including a standout Kaya bean burger that’s absolutely delicious. The avocado toast is fresh and flavorful, while the lavender cardamom mocha is a unique and delightful treat. The service is fast and friendly, and best of all, the prices are very reasonable. It’s a great spot for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank.

This is hands down one of the best lattes I’ve ever had. The quality of the espresso and milk are incredible. I ordered whole cows milk and my husband ordered the macadamia milk latte. Both very good. Don’t miss out on all their gluten free pastries and GF quiches. First day we tried the broccoli and feta quiche & mushroom bell pepper. Both gluten free but couldn’t tell. We came back the next day to order another latte and tried the GF blueberry scone. Again, couldn’t tell the difference of gluten free or regular. They also have a little water statin to pour your own cup. I wish they had a coffee shop like this in San Diego. Highly recommend this place.

Kaya’s was a near daily stop during our time on the Kona side – as a gluten/dairy free human, it is such a treat to walk in and see a bake case full of treats that are both delicious AND safe to eat. The ginger molasses cookie is hands down a favorite – a perfectly chewy middle with a crinkly edge – the PB&J granola bar is a close second. If you’re lucky you’ll also have some excellent gecko watching in the front garden

We’ve lived in Kona for 4 years and this is our first time here.
Friendly staff, great service and delicious food!
They have delicious brownies calling our names and we better answer it! We’ll get them to take home. =)

There are a few east-facing outdoor tables so I can get some morning red-light therapy while drinking coffee or a berry smoothie.
For food I love the Pete Special sandwich, and the quiches (there are usually a few choices).

A daily must stop for real full bodied coffee! Other places around area are so watered down. Locally produced products with the natural soul in mind. Breakfast bagels are amazing and are full of fresh crisp veggies. Smoothies were a daily for me with all natural nutritional ingredients.

Updated: we went back again got a bunch of great pastries and also realized that out of all the coffee we tasted on the island, this was the best. It is mellow and fruity, no harsh bitter roast flavors . All the employees are super nice too. Just had to say – best coffee ever.
Awesome place. Great place with great coffee and friendly service. Really cool old school architecture feels like an old time roadside general store

Kaya’s is the best breakfast / coffee place in the state. HANDS DOWN. The pastries, quiches, lattes, vegan options, and staff create an ideal place to get brekkie. We got breakfast/brunch here every day for our 10 day trip. This place has also solidified our desire to live in the area. I couldn’t imagine the big island with out Kaya’s. Overall I’d say every single person needs to try their pastries as they are a great price, tastier, and more fresh than any mainland food I’ve had.
