The service was good, and the atmosphere was nice and warm. The food, though, it’s not good, but not bad either—just okay. I’ve tried other sushi/ramen places around here, and I can tell you this isn’t my first choice. The sushi was good, but it’s pretty hard to mess that up. Even though it’s ironic, the Ramen tonkotsu broth tasted like flavored water, almost like a cheap cup noodle. The broth had no real flavor or umami to it. This just makes me even more excited for Jinya Ramen to open, which will be a great option for North Peoria. I’m not against trying it again, maybe a different dish, but when there are so many ramen options on the menu you really need to nail a basic one.

Went in for dinner, wasn’t busy at all and from the look of it Togo wasn’t either but still waited 25 minutes for appetizers, and when we put in our order we went item by item so our server got everything but she managed to still forgot to ring in a roll. She came back and say the chef is still working on it and they are a little behind orders but see saw her ringing it in after we mentioned to her. The appetizer you can tell is from suppliers had that frozen fridge taste is so different from the 67th and happy valley location. Never had any problems over at the happy valley location so we decided to give this one a try after a long day and meeting up with family at sunrise mountain. Definitely would advise to drive the extra mile for better food and service.

I give a 3 overall experience with the sizes of the sushi. We visited this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn’t busy at all, which was nice because we were seated quickly without a wait. The service was good the servers were friendly, and our food came out about 15 minutes after ordering. The atmosphere was clean and pleasant.
As for the food, it was decent, but I’ve definitely had better sushi at other places. One thing I did appreciate was the wide range of menu options. However, I wasn’t overly impressed, especially considering the cost. Even with a Groupon discount, you still have to cover the tip and any additional items, which made the final bill add up faster than expected. It was an okay experience, but not somewhere I’d rush back to.

With family in town this week we were looking to try a new sushi place we hadn’t visited yet. After looking at quotes a few we decided to try Kawaii. I saw they had two different locations and both had great reviews. Located in an unassuming parking lot I’ve actually been nearby and didn’t even notice it until today, when we walked in we were greeted right away and told we could sit wherever we’d like. They had just opened and there was already a few people ahead of us. They took our drink order, and left us some menus to look over. I was surprised to see such a large menu, they also had a great lunch special menu. The price range varied but for the specialty rolls you’re looking at about $17 roughly, but they also have their basics for $9. I decided on the spicy crab roll and an Arizona Roll. Our table also ordered wonton soup, cucumber salad, sashimi, wet n wild roll, miso soup and another beef dish but I can’t remember off the top of my head. Everything came out fairly quick with multiple people working the sushi station. The Arizona Roll was quickly my favorite. It had a bit of a kick with the jalepeno and sriracha. The portion was huge and I was full pretty quick. The wet n wild roll was okay, definitely spicy but too much sauce for me and a bit soggy and harder to pick up the roll without it braking. The wonton soup was the perfect size and so good! The cucumber salad was more sweet than I was used to. I don’t think I’d order it again. The sashimi was good for the most part, but one overly fishy with an odd texture. Not sure what type and didn’t ask, but I should’ve as to not get it again. All in all I’d come gain of nearby. Service was attentive and location good size with a bar as well to meet friends.

This was definitely a hidden gem I wouldn’t have found if it wasn’t for Groupon! Unfortunately I couldn’t use my Groupon because I was at the wrong location but the food was phenomenal!! The sushi was super fresh and delicious! The combo lo mein was absolutely delicious! My friend ordered some to go after trying mine lol! She said it was the best lo mein she’s ever had in her LIFE!! Huge chunks of meat! Real ingredients used down to fresh garlic! I will definitely be back!

Super disappointing second visit, and we won’t be back. We went a few months back and had a great experience, so when I was craving sushi I wanted to go here again. We were there on a Friday evening and they were not that busy. When we were leaving around 6:45pm most of the dining room was empty. The service was terrible, took forever to get us drinks, didn’t ask if we wanted additional drinks, or dessert after we finished eating. After our table was cleared of all the dishes we sat for about 10 minutes, still no bill so we flagged the server down and handed him our card so we could leave. They have happy hour and I selected my sushi based on the happy hour offers. They didn’t give us the happy hour discount, but it took so long to check us out that we didn’t review the bill before handing the server our card. As we were leaving my husband asked the server to credit the difference for happy hour pricing when they closed out (also wrote it on the receipt) and the server said “happy hour ended at 6pm” we were there at 5:30pm and ordered before 6pm. We told the server this and he said he would check it out. They did not credit the happy hour discount. I got two rolls, the first roll was the rocky roll which was delicious. The second roll I got the Jamica roll and it was disappointing. A piece had the skin on the fish still, which was off putting. My husband ordered sweet and sour chicken, he asked if he could get the udon noodles instead of the rice, willing to pay an upcharge. The server told us no and that he would have to order the udon seperate. We went ahead and did that. He said the chicken was fine, he wouldn’t order it again though. The udon is also supposed to have scallops, onion, cabbage, carrot and beans sprouts but it had none of that. My husband asked why the udon had nothing but the noodles in it and the server told him that it didn’t come with anything in it. That is not what the menu says. It was also a weird interaction when we asked for the side of rice that was supposed to come with the sweet and sour chicken, a bit of back and forth then they finally gave it to us. Overall it was a bad experience, I do not recommend.

Husband and I decided to do Valentines dinner and Kawaii sat us in less than a minute. Super accommodating and pleasant while doing so. Food, super fresh, a little pricey but you wont be disappointed.

Disaster all around
This was my first and last time eating here. I came once prior but there credit cards system was down. So i was told i couldn’t eat here unless i had cash. I came back a week later and it was a big mistake. The restaurant just felt dirty. the menu ,cups, silverware all had spots on them. The sushi was flavorless and tasted worse than gas station sushi. The orange chicken tasted like it was made in the microwave and was soggy. The beef tasted like it was boiled and also tasted rubbery. The soda was flat. The rice was only good thing i ate. The prices are outgrageous for the quality you get. The only positive was the waitress nice and friendly. I had a stomach ache for 2 days after eating here.
