Came by after we landed around 3pm on a Friday. My partner ordered the Homemade Pork Lau Lau – “it was made with care, not over cooked, moist and seasoned well”. I ordered the pineapple chicken, it was great. Came out some time after his so he was about halfway through his meal ( I encouraged him to eat whole it was hot). I liked that the pineapple chicken wasn’t super sweet! I also ordered the Pink Lemonade, also not too sweet!

We’ve really good meals at Kauai Diner. They have classic Hawaiian fare and also Japanese and Chinese items on a pretty long menu.
We had dinner twice and tried the katsu salad, curry katsu, mapo tofu, and crispy pork chops. The katsu was crispy and light. They curry is a Japanese classic. The mapo tofu was a bit heavy on the sauce, but it was a nice break from other meats. We got the crispy pork chop which was really tasty. We got it under the snack/appetizer side to share (as an app it doesn’t come with rice) and it was the perfect size for us.
Service is really efficient and friendly. We were seated quickly and the orders come out quickly as well.
We came for breakfast on the way to the airport. I got the Filipino scramble with eggs scrambled with onions and tomatoes and longanisa sausage and my husband got the ube pancakes with gotenberg sausage. The ube pancakes were delicious! The sauce that came with it has a nice ube and coconut milk flavor that is not too sweet. That sauce is also great for dipping toast. My scramble was fine. I did not care for the longanisa sausage, but I’ve not had it before.
All in all, we’d definitely recommend Kauai Diner. It’s open late for Hawaiian restaurants and there’s plenty of parking. We saw many local families dine here, so you know it’s good.

A great way to end our vacation and I’m so glad we chose this place. The menu is vast and has something for everyone: Hawaiian, American, Filipino, Chinese, and Japanese. We got the loco moco and macadamia nut pancakes, along with a spam musubi. Great flavor, and the tita serving us was hustling!!! They seem to be very popular and always busy. They also have lots of condiments, including spiced vinegar (sukang maanghang), which I rarely see outside of specifically Filipino joints. It complemented the extra rice from my musubi very well
Just wish that the pancakes came smothered in sauce! But there’s syrup at each table anyway.

We got the garlic shrimp and the pineapple chicken. Garlic shrimp was fried, and had good flavor. The pineapple chicken was less sweet than expected, and had good flavor as well.

My family found this restaurant on a whim and are so glad we stopped in. All of us were able to find a dish we loved. I will definitely eat here again to try more menu items. The menu is massive and everything looks delicious. Our server was friendly and we didn’t have to wait long for our food to arrive. We didn’t have to wait to be seated. There is plenty of seating for groups of any size.

Excellent selection of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Open all day, lunch menu starts at 11am. The Ube Pancakes were amazing!! I also ordered the Vegetarian Ramen, and the flavor of the broth was exceptional. Reminiscent of wonton soup on the best way possible. Half the menu has Japanese food options, definitely recommend!!

Oxtail soup is a must when visiting Kauai, and this place serves one of the best on the island. You have a choice of oxtail soup with rice or oxtail ramen soup. I like oxtail with ramen because I paired it with their house special fried rice, which is also one of the tastiest fried rice dishes I’ve ever had. If your in the island make sure to check them out they have 2 locations on opposite side of the island so your covered! Id definitely come back, and will be back soon!
