This place, kinda don’t want to review it, and keep it as a hidden gem for locals. Needless to say here we go…
I will start by saying; _personally_ had it not been recommended to me by someone, I would not have gone there while wandering the city. They have a divided entrance for quick take out, or pass the door for dine-in. They do have customer restrooms, huge plus! The menu is diverse. Many options that are best for large parties. Portions are HUGE. As is the price accordingly. Food was fantastic, fresh, and vibrant. Try the Lychee Jelly Soda. . Waiting staff are courteous, and respectful. Always close by attending customers. All in all a great place to grab food with friends and family. One star loss on environmental appearance.

Ordered food for the whole office and we all have symptoms of food poisoning from nausea to diarrhea. The bbq pork fried rice had little grinded up bones in it. I have never had fried rice with bones in it. We were all disgusted. The bbq pork was flavorless. The fried prawns made my boss sick. I’ve always loved kaukau my entire life but this experience I don’t think I’ll be able to go back. I’m traumatized. The egg foo young was good though

Great BBQ. Super fast service. The food seemed to come out instantly. It’s hard to beat Kau Kau for food value. I’m a gai jin but I’ve been eating at the ID for decades.

Had a wonderful bowl of soup and some beautiful bbq pork. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the broth had a great flavour. Everything came hot and perfectly seasoned. Staff is very friendly.
I will definitely be back for more! A must stop next time I’m in Seattle.

Must try! We ate here prior to a Seahawks game the service is quick and the food was amazing! The combination BBQ platter was delicious! Chow Mien and fried pot stickers were also very good.
They also have a very large TV to watch the games in the AM if you are into that!

Uhhh no. I was excited to try this place because I saw a video of them serving Peking duck like cutting the skin and pieces in front of your table etc. We got the egg mushroom soup, Peking duck, and mapo tofu. The soup was the only thing that was edible. Still kind of watery and had msg flavor and not too much umami. Second mapo tofu was the worst ive had. Just no flavor. Felt like they put tofu and dark sauce without any spicy things and just not edible at all. Now onto the Peking duck. Idk what I expected but not this. They dont even try to cut it so that its bite size. Sizing all over the place, the skin is rubbery and not crispy at all. The meat itself is attached to bones so it was so hard to eat off of it. The bao I expected thin layers but its just cheap bao they probably buy from another store. I was so disappointed. And the floor is way too oily or something it wasn’t looking clean at all. And the whole store smells weird. If you go, just eat something cheap there cuz they have 10 dollar lunch. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Save your money.
Also we did say the food was not great when the server asked us “how is everything” and I said “its alright”. And she didnt ask us further about it and so I decided to leave my honest review here.

This is probably the most popular location during the CID food walk, and for good reason – the BBQ pork is really good! However, the value is just not quite there for me. They have ample space for a sit down experience, though I saw a lot of take out orders too.
