Social Profile:

Katz’s Deli & Restaurant originally opened in 1998 as a small deli with great food and has transformed into a 100+ seat restaurant that feeds over 300,000 people yearly. Katz’s has become a must stop destination in a small sleepy Connecticut town. Although the focal point of our menu is “NY Style” “Jewish Style”, Katz’s is so much more than an old school deli. We offer outrageous sized fresh salads, a great soup selection year-round, great wraps, plenty of vegetarian/vegan/gluten free options, and a delicious case of freshly baked classic desserts; all served up in a casual, full-service, bright, friendly, and fast paced environment.

Classic Jewish deli food from Nova Scotia salmon to pastrami sandwiches dished up in a retro venue.

This was our first time to try this restaurant. We will be eating here again for sure. We travel for work so we will be back through again. This is difently worth marking on the map! We got ours to go, but as we waited on the food we look around & observed the hussel & bussle of the crowd. Locals enjoy lunch & grabbed pasterys & bagels to go. Oh and don’t sleep on the pickles! They are sooo good!

It’s my first time checking it out. I got stuck in traffic on route 15 so I decided to pull off saw the sign.
The staff was super welcoming and friendly . They were able to provide recommendations for me. I ended up ordering the corn beef Reuben with some sweet potato fries.
The location was nice and busy but not too busy where you couldn’t find seating they had different varieties of foods upfront muffins, different pastries chips and even mustard and pickles to purchase.
Corned beef Reuben was fantastic and nice and filling. The sweet potato fries were delicious.

Katz’s is always great! It’s within sight of the Merritt Pkwy so it’s our favorite stop when we drive north. The food is always delicious and dependably good. Clean ladies room, half-sour pickles and bagels to go. Last time I had the brisket special (took half home for dinner.) Husband has the white fish salad. We’ve tried the turkey sandwich, omelets, hot dogs, grilled cheese, rugelach….Friendly, experienced staff too. Highly recommend. You will find something to love.

Sat in a corner booth all demure but a older couple joined aside of me. Didn’t want them to but it was pleasant. Plus, the waitress was super sweet and attentive. Wish I could tip more but Makana was a delight. And so was the bus boy (man) Gabriel. Super passionate about his job. And the food was gooooodt. Especially since I don’t eat out often anymore. My first time here. Thanks for the great experience. If there’s anything I can sample for free. I’d love to.

A bunch of us needed an excuse to drive our MINI Coopers around on a Saturday. What better destination than Katz Deli. Apps were great (one of the best cole slaws ever and plenty of pickles) but the star was Morgan, our server, she kept us all happy with friendly and attentive service. Here are pictures of a mile high corned beef sandwich (one pound of corned beef) and a roasted veggie Rachel sandwich. Plus I wanted to add a picture of a few of the cars.

Food was good but not amazing like the NYC Katz. I had the pastrami and it’s nowhere near as tender as the Katz pastrami in NYC. I wish they would do the same recipe as NYC that would allow for super tender meat hand cut with a knife. My wife enjoyed her tuna wrap and my son enjoyed his pastrami on Rye and he loved the mustard. I also got the matzo ball soup and it was good and hearty. We got a bunch of desserts to go and they were all good with the exception of the cheesecake. The cheesecake tasted a little old to me. I gave 4 starts because overall we had a good experience. Oh the fries and onion rings were very good and our waitress was great. The staff were friendly and seemed to be happy to be there. 99.9% sure I’ll be back I won’t be getting the pastrami or cheesecake.

First visit. Our food was delicious! We had white fish salad on a bagel and a hot brisket sandwich. The pickles and coleslaw appetizers were amazing. Fantastic friendly and prompt service too!

The food is delicious and I’ve been there three times. Wait staff is nice. Only reason I give four stars is because this third time I went, there were a lot of homeless people asking people for food outside. Didn’t feel as safe. Told management who turned a blind eye to it and said “oh really?”

Addyson was a very nice and made an excellent suggestion for me to order the first cut on the corned beef sandwich and it was excellent idea. I am glad I accepted her recommendation . Dawn ,the manager was also very helpful and very friendly. I must have arrived just before the dinner rush because the place quickly filled up while I was placing/waiting for my order.

The staff and customers were both a pleasure to speak with while I was there picking up my sandwich. I’ve been to this place several times in the past and it is very consistent. The pickle was crunchy. The sandwich was very, very tasty , the rye bread was buttered and toasted on a flat skillet, which was even crunchy when I got the sandwich home .

The the staff was friendly and I could tell they enjoyed being there as much as I did, which adds to the wonderful atmosphere of this place. I will be returning to this establishment again and when I’m in Manhattan, I know where to go to grab the same excellent sandwich.
