First time eating at Katz Deli. The Blackened Chicken Philly was really good. The Chicken Fried Chicken was also really good. The sweet potato fries are comparable to any other restaurant that serves them. They were good, but nothing special. The Mac & Cheese was dry and not really good, wouldn’t recommend it at all. Also, got a kids meal chicken tender and fries. The c hi sicken tenders were very dry and hard like they were overcooked. I will give this place another try because if the large menu, but if the food is dry again, I won’t be spending any more money with them.

Stopped by Katz’s for lunch today and had a mixed experience. The building is brand new and looks nice. Parking is a bit tight, but overall the space feels clean and updated. We ordered to go, and the service itself was fine.
My issue wasn’t really the price of the food. Meals come at all price points in this area, so that part didn’t bother me. What did bother me were the extra fees on the receipt.
Being charged a credit card surcharge at a restaurant this size felt excessive. That’s something I expect from a food truck or a very small operation, not a full-scale restaurant. On top of that, there was an added gratuity on a to-go order. With how blurry tipping has already become and how every card transaction now asks for tips, this just didn’t sit right.
I’m under the assumption that tipped wages apply mainly to waitstaff, and I’m not sure that applies the same way to to-go orders, but either way, the lack of clarity around these fees was frustrating.
Food and service were fine, but the surprise charges really took away from the experience. Transparency here would go a long way.

This was my first time to this location, Westheimer. I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I was glad I could share my meal with my 11 month old. The waitress was kind and patient with us.

I was not wowed by this location. I did like the outdoor patio area. It had a small section with cornhole, foosball and table sized jenga. Service was not that great, but we were told they were busy on the inside ♀️ The Manager had to take care of our table. I had the Ruben sandwich and it wasn’t as great as I remembered it. My son had the hot honey chicken sandwich and he said it wasn’t as good as other places.

This place deserves a zero rating. Firstly, they automatically add gratuity to your takeout bill, the service is useless, the food is expensive and poorly prepared. I ordered 8 wings and fries, and the bill totaled $25. The 8 wings and 10 potato wedges cost $25, and the wedges were undercooked. You can even count the pepper grains on the lemon pepper wings. I can’t believe they are still in business.

This place was truly amazing. The efficiency of the staff Gabby handled our table order and did not drop the ball. The food was 10 out of 10. Everything was delicious. The quality of the food was on point. We definitely will be back.

Katz is consistent and reasonably priced. Service can vary as with this particular visit. Our server was a little absent, but we did choose to sit outside whereas the majority of people were inside… nevertheless the spinach artichoke dip is delicious. I got the French dip which was slightly bland, and as you’ll see in the picture, I never got the au jus. My husband had a shrimp dish and it was all delicious.. I had the Keylime martini because the server said it was unique to Katz deli.. it was OK.
