I absolutely love Katzinger’s. I try to visit every time I get to Columbus to visit my son. I love the Reuben and the garlic pickles in the barrel. The staff is usually very friendly but the gentleman today, not so much. Didn’t deter much from my visit being I got my sandwich to go. But still, the sandwich was the absolute bomb . Makes my mouth water thinking and talking about it. I wish we had one in Cincinnati so I wouldn’t have to wait so long between sammiches, lol. I highly recommend Katzinger’s for anyone looking for a quality sandwich and experience.

I was hankering for a sandwich and got recommended this place. On first impression, you walk into an area that looks like a regular deli counter. Then you look up at the menu and there are so many options, it’s almost overwhelming. They are all organized by which meat is running the show on the sandwich, which I liked. Along with sandwiches, you can order sliced meat as well as traditional Jewish food. One thing I couldn’t find on the menu was the difference between their sizes. I asked and one is a quarter pound and the other half pound of meat. The sandwiches are pretty expensive at $18 per sandwich with no sides. Once you order, you head back to the dining area and the area where they make the real sandwiches. In front are two barrels will self-serve pickles. I have mixed feelings about it because I like unlimited pickles but also it is an open container sitting out all day, which is a little unsanitary. The area was clean but at least half of the tables were out of napkins and I had to jump from table to table looking for some. The employees were nice but some were standing around and could’ve replenished the napkins. I ordered the upper Ruben that was featured on Food Network and it was pretty fantastic. I really enjoy their sandwiches but the prices keep me from frequenting here more.

Absolutely wowed by this place! The deli and decor is super cute and clean. We were helped by Roman and he was very welcoming and friendly. Usually at restaurants you get in and out, but he truly made our experience there one of a kind. We ordered a little bit of everything, the egg salad was so yummy. The kids menu had a variety of options from pb&j to hot dogs, they had chicken soup and a vegetarian/vegan sandwich selection. I highly recommend this place, the food was fresh and the pickles were A+!

Pros: The reuben: Thinly-cut, slightly salty meat and the crunchy, grilled bread was delicious. The matzoh balls were light and a great compliment to my sandwich.
Cons: Came in at 11am on a Wednesday. Ordered potato latke…..was told they were out. Ordered a side of whitefish salad…out as well.
They have a “free pickle bar”. The barrels of garlic and dill pickles are by the food line (do an about-face from where you order your food) are located by the open kitchen I knew about the free pickles from other yelpers. It would have been beneficial for the order-taker to advise me where they are and (for a first-timer) that they are offered.
Sat at a table by the window…..table sticky along with crusty salt and pepper shakers with schmutz (like it has not been cleaned in days!). I attached a pic of my napkin stuck to the table!

I seriously cannot wait until I can come back here! Found this hidden gem on a Sunday afternoon and absolutely loved it. The extensive menu items can be somewhat overwhelming at first, however I enjoyed the variety and was incredibly happy with my choice. I was also so happy to see the pickle station as it was honestly the finishing touch to this cute sandwich shop. I hope to come back and try the desserts as well since they also looked great! The sandwiches were amazing, filling, and delicious! I recommend that everyone check out this awesome spot!

Ate lunch here today and was very disappointed. Their signature sandwhich, the rueben, was dry and certainly did not have the amount of meat that they claim. My friend ordered a club sandwich and the toast was badly burned. When I mentioned it, the waitress said that was the way it comes! She did offer to remake it. This has got to be the most over rated restaurant that I have ever been to. Not at all worth the premium prices that they charge. They charge like a full service restaurant, but in reality it is pretty much self-serve. I do have to say that my wife enjoyed the tuna sandwhich.

This was my first time visiting this location. The inside seating area is nice, it was post-lunch-rush, so it was quiet. The patio was nice as well. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Both sandwiches ordered were pretty heavy on the sauces, so they were wet and drippy, which wasn’t great. They tasted good, just soggy. The pickles definitely were off, the brine probably needs changed. The flavors were weirdly mixed and the dill pickles were soft and squishy. But they’re free so whatevs. Overall, good, just not great.

The Reuben was decent. Also had a pastrami with slaw and Russian dressing but that wasn’t very good. Counter guy seemed annoyed he had to put down his phone. Don’t think I’ll be back to this location. I remember the German village one being good but haven’t been there in years.

I stopped at Katzingers for a Pastrami sandwich, expecting a decent pastrami on rye that you’d find at a typical Jewish deli. This place is NOT a Jewish deli. Lowest quality of pastrami i’ve ever seen, extremely fatty and too thinly sliced. Matter of fact i showed the picture to my dad (who’s a 4th generation jewish new yorker) and he genuinely thought I photoshopped it or it was fake or something, he’s like there’s no way they served that you got to be pranking me. There was hardly any pastrami on the sandwich anyway. Unlike the pastrami, the matzo ball soup was actually edible. Edible doesn’t mean good though, still the worst matzo ball i’ve ever been served at a restaurant.
Not only was the pastrami terrible, they served it on SOURDOUGH!! You heard that right, Pastrami on sourdough… smh. The only “rye” they have is marbled hard rye, not soft rye bread which you would expect pastrami served on.
I attached two pictures, one of their unedible “pastrami”… and one of a real pastrami on rye which i took at 2nd ave deli.
You can unironically get a better pastrami sandwich in the food court of penn station at pastrami queen. lol.

Food quality was outstanding for everything. The bread tasted extremely fresh, well cured meat. The sandwich was delicious. The only thing you need to look for is that each sandwich is expensive for the amount served.
