Heard great things and finally tried it today — totally worth it.
The king-size pork cutlet was huge, crispy, and absolutely delicious.
Our kids loved it and cleaned their plates. We’ll definitely be back!

I stopped by this spot yesterday, and everything I tried was just solid. The pork cutlet came out super crispy with a deep, savory sauce that didn’t feel heavy at all. Even after I took a few pictures, the crust stayed crunchy, which says a lot.
The cheese katsu was even better than I expected. The inside was soft and melty, and the breading had that light, clean crunch that’s hard to get right.
They also have noodle dishes, and those were honestly a highlight. The broth was rich without being salty, and the noodles had that perfect chew. It tied the meal together really well.
The cabbage salads and sides were fresh and simple, which balanced the fried dishes nicely.
Overall, everything tasted clean, thoughtful, and just really well made. Definitely a place worth going back to. Must try!!

The tonkatsu is incredibly crispy, and the udon is rich and savory!
This is already my third visit, and the staff has been so friendly. The owner always welcomes us warmly, which makes the experience even better. We got it to-go order also, it was still crispy and delicious.

The atmosphere is clean and comfortable.
I highly recommend the tonkatsu and the curry udon!

I visited this newly opened restaurant today for lunch with a friend. Since it was the weekend and the weather was nice, we expected it to be busy during lunch hours. However, it wasn’t as crowded as we had anticipated.
We were excited to try a new place, but unfortunately the first impression was a bit disappointing. When we walked in and when we left, there was no greeting at all. There were two staff members working, but neither acknowledged us, which felt a little unwelcoming.
We originally wanted to try the cheese pork cutlet, but it was completely sold out during lunch. Since it was the menu item we were most curious about, both my friend and I were quite disappointed.
The food we ordered was decent, but it wasn’t particularly memorable. It tasted slightly greasy and a bit heavy rather than impressive. In addition, the seaweed flakes sprinkled over the rice had a noticeably fishy smell and taste, which made it less enjoyable.
During our meal, the staff only approached our table to serve the food and bring the check. I understand that lunch hours can be busy, but since it wasn’t particularly crowded, it would have been nice if someone checked on the table at least once.
When it came time to pay, I honestly found myself wondering what the tip would be for, as there was very little interaction or service beyond the basics.
I believe the restaurant has potential since it’s newly opened. With improvements in customer service especially greeting guests when they enter and leave and being a bit more attentive it could create a much better overall experience.

This restaurant was absolutely amazing, our waiter was so sweet and polite, he answered all our questions and was very informative. The food was spectacular! I was worried the curry might be a little over powering but it was all equally balanced, the Katsu had me wanting more. It was super crunchy and flaky on the outside but the chicken on the inside was still so soft, juicy and flavorful! So every bite was perfect! I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend to all friends and family.

This place became my go-to restaurant when me and my kids want some wholesome good food! This time around I tried Buldak cream pasta with katsu and it just hit the spot!! I requested it to be slightly less spicy and it came out at perfect. My kids ordered the king katsu as usual. It is just so crunch and not too thick for the kids and the serving size is so generous that they always leave fully satisfied .

I was nearby and decided to visit Katsumori’s new restaurant. The decor is minimalistic and elegant, featuring clean lines made of wood and stone. At the entrance, a wall displays the phrase “Nothing beats Chicago.” The staff are friendly and quickly seat guests. They offer a table menu where you place your order. I chose Teokbokki and hot tea. The Teokbokki costs $14.99, and the tea is $4.99, which is a bit pricey for a simple tea bag. It took some time for the order to arrive. Meanwhile, all the occupied tables were filled with Asian diners. A large screen played modern music at a low volume, sometimes distracting. My dish was excellent—rich in flavor, made with high-quality ingredients, and beautifully presented. I recommend Katsumori and plan to return to try more dishes.

I personally really love the stir fried udon items on the menu! The carbonara and k-rose udon are really really good. Have not tried the katsu but have heard good things about it from the friends I went with. Service was good. Will have to come back more when we’re all back in town.

If you like pork cutlets, this place is definitely worth a visit. The prices are reasonable and the food is really good. I highly recommend trying the main pork cutlet and the soba—they’re a must.

Super chic and modern space with a great vibe. The food was delicious. The Mori Katsu was super crispy but still juicy and flavorful inside, you could tell it was very quality meat. One of the best katsu in Chicago area. All the sides they served complemented the katsu very well and they were all amazing on their own. They also gave us a sample of udon because it was opening day and the noodles tasted so fresh.
Staff were very nice and helped us pick a Soju flavor that was delicious!
