Thanks to Amanda and Felix Eats, we decided to try Katsu Sando 808 when we were at the Kaka’ako Farmers Market. We had the tankatsu sando and found it flavorful. The bread was very soft. A sandwich was definitely a meal for me.

Wait was extremely long, the kastu breading didn’t stick to the pork, was thick (and so overly chewy). Would’ve been 3 stars if the price wasn’t so high. Expected better.

I’ve been waiting a long time to try them during my visits to O’ahu, and I’m glad I did! Not only did I get to try their classic katsu flavor, but their new Spam Katsu as well! The owner and staff are all incredibly nice and you can always find them at the Kaka’ako Farmers Market on saturdays with their food truck setup!

I must say the Wagyu katsu Sando is the TRUTH, the crispness of the crust around the burger gives it a delightful sensation when biting into the burger. The burger itself was incredibly juicy and moist all the way through, it was so good . The bun was the cradle to its awesomeness keeping the burger from falling apart and soaking up all the flavors from the juicy burger. It was totally worth the price. Secondly I tried the curry fries and wow, just wow these fries are the best, they compliment and go hand in hand with the Wagyu Sando burger. The only regret I had was not buying 2

They’re located at the Kakaako Farmers Market on Saturdays. Let me tell you, go early. They sell out fast. They also only take cash.
I tried the egg salad sandwich which was tasty and a good deal for the price. Get the tonkatsu sandwich. The tonkatsu was fried nicely and the met was juicy, not dry or too tough at all. The bread they use for their sandwiches are soft, fresh and crustless!

Got the tamago sando – had really high hopes for this but I feel like they overcook their eggs! It was a little chalky and it kinda ruined it for me. I was hoping for the slightly undercooked orange/runny version you see in Japan. I also think it could’ve been seasoned better and slightly sweeter. Really wanted to like this place but it could use some tweaks!

Thick-cut katsu with fluffy shokupan. Not cheap at $11/sandwich, but pretty delicious, especially when consumed fresh. Good balance of all the ingredients, including the katsu sauce and coleslaw.

Best katsu and they made a bunless version on a bed of shaved cabbage with katsu sauce. Yummy!
