Whether you look at it as a burger or as a katsu teishoku, the food here would pass with flying colors.
The pork cutlets are on the dry side but crunchy. On its own it wouldn’t be rated very highly, but it goes very well with the sauce and the burger buns. The fresh and chilled shredded cabbage is a big spotlight of this meal, providing the moisture and adding a new dimension of texture, perfectly tying the western and Eastern experience together.
Different items are finished with different sauces. I tried the wabi wasabi and the katsu curry. Both taste amazingly Japanese, while still staying within the realm of burgers.
Overall, it’s a great show of Japanese-American food. It is priced at between fast-food and sitdown restaurant, but has the quality of gourmet burgers. A very pleasant experience at great value.
P.S. They offer beef as an option of katsu. Beware that it is deep fried patty. I thought it was gyu-katsu, aka deep fried beef cutlets, but it is not. Deep fried patties will be more greasy. Even though they were still well made, I would personally prefer the pork option over that.
I ordered the Ninja Deluxe burger with the 12 spice fries, which truly left me speechless. The burger was ultimately one of the best I’ve ever had.
The crust and crunch of the burger combined with the freshness of the various vegetables makes for an experience you cannot miss. I can’t wait to try all the burgers and fry flavor combinations. The sauces were delightfully complex, and dare I say unique.
Service was stellar.
Congrats ownership and staff.
The only downside — and the reason for the 4-star rating — was the pickled onions. While they added great flavor, they made the bottom bun pretty soggy by the time I got halfway through. A minor letdown in an otherwise great experience.
Still, if you’re in the mood for something hearty and unique, Katsu Burger is absolutely worth a visit. I’ll definitely be back to try more from their menu.
Curry fries were good.
You order at the kiosk and they bring it out like a typical fast Japanese restaurant. 10/10 recommend
Coming to the food, I would give them 10 stars if I could! We got the chicken banzai bites, Godzilla attack burger with chicken, Katsu curry burger with tofu, a plain chicken burger for the kids, curry fries, and a vanilla milkshake. Loved loved each and everything. Special mention to their curry fries, the curry powder they add on top was so delicious. The chicken and tofu inside the burger were so crispy, fried perfectly with minimal grease. The vanilla milkshake was one of the best we’ve ever tasted. We are going to be regulars here for sure!
