The guy at the front was hilarious . They are definitely unorganized but they have their own system that works for them. I got my did and it was correct and that’s all that matters. The food was great. It’s a small place and it felt like I was in grandma’s kitchen (good thing). I’ll order from them again.

The food was okay. The mac n cheese was not our cup of tea. The chicken and pork chops were cooked hot and ready to order. The staff was nice and accommodating.

When I arrived my food was ready she was alone working so the door was locked I had to wait to be let in. The chicken was fried one piece was fresh the other was refried and burnt did not eat it. I don’t have a problem waiting for fresh hot food very disappointed.

I have been going here for years and I used to love it. The past few times I have been, the food has been salty or vinegary. The guy at the front was really nice! But it doesn’t look like they clean in there regularly. The turnip greens taste good but I’m afraid they may be canned greens. That would be highly disappointing to go to a soul food restaurant and receive canned greens but I could be wrong. I hope they read these reviews and try to make a change because I would love to keep going back but I don’t want to waste my money. In conclusion, the guy at the front was awesome, please try to clean regularly and clean the POS system and please TASTE the food before serving it. Many blessings ❤️

Okay so basically I ordered Kats on doordash and received a roach in my food.(It was submerged in the smothered gravy) (So I don’t know if it was thrown away) Immediately I called the owner and she told me I could just order a cup of juice and she’ll give me another meal. But at that point I didn’t want another meal. So after I sent her the pictures (her personal phone number is the number on the website) I told her could she please contact doordash because they didn’t want to give me a refund. And she never responded. (This was after we exchanged pleasantries and I thought she was going to do it) (she even told me thank you for not trying to harm her business) (which I understood my mom is a business owner we’ve never had roaches…. but I can understand things happen) To be honest I love her food but bugs was literally in the gravy.. no telling how many I ate. And all I asked was a for a refund.

Very disappointed! I paid right at 40$ for a baked chicken plate and a beef tip and rice plate and drink. Should have known from the rating and reviews that I saw. But I always like to try for myself. The food was definitely bland barely any seasonings on the beef tips nor chicken. Rice tasted watery and absolutely no salt was on it. The mash potatoes I had as a side taste like they scooped it right out the potato and plated it. No butter , milk, salt, pepper nothing. Just bland and starchy. I was suppose to have Mac n cheese on one of the plates but they decided to give me another scoop full of those mash potatoes instead . I also had green beans and yams as sides. The green beans were the worst thing on the plate. I took one bite and tasted straight vinegar and sour taste and it was strong. I didn’t know if it’s how they seasoned it or if it was because it was old and recycled. The yams were the only decent thing on the plate. Everything was cold and you could tell it was cooked probably yesterday and served again today. Mind you I order at the beginning of lunch time. So the food should be at it’s freshest! I normally don’t write reviews even if the food isn’t that good but to have to throw away 40$ worth of food and absolutely nothing was fresh or seasoned hardly is upsetting.

I got there at 4:30 because the website said closes at 6. I arrived and a lady was putting items in a car. I asked were they still open she said no. I said the website said you close at 6, what time do you usually close. She said sometime 3 or 4. She was on her way to the eye doctor.
I will give it another shot in hopes I have a amazing experience.
