The food was absolutely sublime. Every bite was full of flavor. 10/10 on every dish. If I lived in New Orleans I would eat here everyday. Service was so friendly and accommodating. Very welcoming atmosphere.

We are locals but have never been here. Family came in from out of town, so we decided to try it. The service was top notch! Our waitress was friendly and great at making sure we had what we needed. The food was visually appealing and tasted good. My husband got the pasta which he really liked. The only downside is it was quite noisy, as we went during the weekday at lunch time. Tables are a bit close together.

We stopped by here since it was in the neighborhood of our Airbnb and had good reviews. We were walk-ins on a Saturday during lunchtime and only had a 20-minute wait to be seated. We were placed at a 2-seat low top right near the bathroom entrance. Our appetizer was six charbroiled oysters, small but perfectly cooked. My son and I both enjoyed the seafood entrees: Delta Queen pasta and Shrimp Bucktown Alfredo. Both were delicious and plentiful, but did not come with any sides, such as a salad.

The atmosphere is odd since it is a bar/restaurant based in an old neighborhood. Silverware wrapped in paper napkins and plastic cups for soda. TVs, a disco ball, and linoleum floors give the sports bar vibe. Service was okay, but our male server seemed distracted and wanted to be somewhere else.

The food was excellent, but everything else was less than desirable. With our lunch being just south of $100 without alcoholic drinks, we would probably not return.

Visited during carnival so the place was packed even more than usual. Food was outstanding and despite the crowds, the service was very good. I had a dish off the daily special board, so it’s not available daily, but definitely would recommend the trout filet on a bed of jambalaya covered with a cream-based seafood sauce.

Katie’s was a great recommendation. It was the first spot we went to eat and we did not regret it. The gumbo, after eating several, is still a crowd favorite. And the Cuban sandwich was absolutely delicious. The shrimp with the fried tomato was great, too. We waited about 20 minutes but there are plenty of seats outside to wait. 10/10 would recommend.

Fiance and I came here for a late lunch after exploring City Park, and absolutely loved our experience here! Our Lyft dropped us off, and this place looked PACKED! I was nervous that we’d be waiting awhile, as some parties were seated on benches out front, so we walked in to assess what the wait time might be. To our surprise, there were a few seats open at the bar, so we squeezed in and started with some strong margaritas! Probably one of the best during our NOLA trip! We also had the charbroiled oysters which were on their happy hour specials so that was nice! They were soooo delicious!!! We both chose the Redfish which was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked! The summer squash it came with was also tasty!
Despite them being slammed with guests (always a good indicator that the food is gonna be good!!!) we still had wonderful service. Happy we came here!!!

I’ve been to a ton of places in New Orleans and Katie’s might be one of my new top places to go to in the city. It’s a no frills place because all of the effort goes into the food. We stopped by on a whim to try out the food and everything was amazing.

When i say no frills, I mostly mean that’s the goal of the restaurant is not to be fancy. It feels like walking into someone’s home packed with tables of al sorts for dining, a bar and plenty of character. They also have more seating upstairs for when they are real packed. With that said, make sure you make reservations ahead of time because it can get real busy.

Our server was great! Overall friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. She also gave us great recommendations on what to eat.

The food was absolutely amazing. The crawfish beignet was delicious. I was nervous at first because I never had anything like it but I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was. For my entree, I created my own pasta dish. It was alfredo linguine with fried shrimp and grilled chicken and it was sooooooo good and full of flavor with every bite. I wish I had it right now as I type this. So good!

Overall Katie’s was a wonderful time and I’ll definitely add it to my ‘must go to’ list. The food stood out and I will definitely return to try other items on the menu.

Our waitress was really friendly, she made sure to let us know when each of our dishes are coming.

Crawfish beignets : My partner and I were clapping like seals because of how good this was.

The remmy po-boy : The fried green tomatoes added a refreshing taste to the sandwich. It’s a ‘me-problem’ but my shrimps kept escaping my sandwich and I have to keep picking it up lol. I prefer sandwiches with a more consistent bite.

Chicken Gumbo (bowl) : It tastes good but I think it’s a little too salty for my liking

If you want a great taste of Creole inspired dishes Katie‘s must be on your list when visiting New Orleans. The nicely converted home in a humble neighborhood, just walk through the doors and you’ll find a vibrant restaurant behind the purple walls. My table got eight different dishes and they were truly all delicious. The kids pizza and the kids spaghetti and meatball would’ve passed for a regular adult size meal at any other restaurant. The most impressive dish was the softshell crab that my grandmother got, which is the largest I’ve seen in my life.
The owner was just the nicest guy and hangs out here regularly, and will not only say hi in passing, but if you’ll have him he’ll sit down and chat with you like you’re an old friend. Just hop on the Canal street car from downtown, hop off and walk one block. You won’t regret it.

Fun atmosphere and great service.
The portions are fairly large. Get something on the specials menu of possible. The Lemon Doberge cake was beautiful, but I wish it had a stronger lemon taste.
