Last few weeks I visited Tacoma and had a chance to eat here at this water front restaurant. The place is very nice, the foods are quite tasty.
I was craving for patty melts since I haven’t had for a long time. My sister had a reuben sandwich which also very good.
The appetizer calamari was excellent.
The prices are reasonable for a nice restaurant with a view like this one.
The server is attentive and fast.
It’s close the pier where people are squid fishing which is nice to stroll after the meal.
It’s lunch so we didn’t try the pizzas.
The patty melts and reuben rye bread toasted perfectly. I really enjoyed them.
The fries are great.
Sometimes it’s nice to have lunch with a view and here in Tacoma, wonderful when it’s not raining.

Went today for the first time and we were impressed! The food was excellent. I had a bite of everything on the table. I ordered the meatball sub with a buttload of cheese and the chef toasted mozzarella on the inside of the bun. So yummy. The service was great and the place was immaculate, even the bathrooms. We will be back!

We went for Valentines Day. It was a great experience. The only reason I took a star from atmosphere was because the table set up didnt make all that much sense to me and parking could have been better (as does most parking on Rushton).
Otherwise, our experience was amazing! The server was funny, attentive, and helpful. The Alfredo was to die for! Drinks were a bit speedy but so good.
We will definitely return!

A fantastic experience! This is a beautiful restaurant/upscale bar available. Atmosphere is A+! We sat on the deck and enjoyed lunch. We had Calamari App with Caesar, Cobb Salad and a bowl of Chowder. Excellent team service and we will visit again.

The food was excellent, we had bruschetta, fish tacos and the cioppino plus a couple of drinks. As much as we enjoyed what we ordered we would have happily sampled many of the dishes going to other tables. Very lucky to have sunny weather in February and a window seat to enjoy the waterfront views. Overall the atmosphere is relaxed and bustling at the same time. Staff were very friendly and engaging in the midst of being very busy. The only note is about the general higher cost of eating out which is not just here so a partial lament that is not just Katie Downs. We are planning on returning regardless to enjoy their deep dish pizza.

Food was delicious! The halibut was really good, fish and chips and Cole slaw were delicious and the steelhead great was as well. We really enjoyed our food and would eat it again in a heart beat.
However, I’m knocking two stars off because- some of the plates were dirty with food stuck on them, the floors were dirty as well. It also stunk of moth balls.
The waitress was new (stated it was her first week) and didn’t know the menu which caused some disagreement and arguments between my party and her, it made for an awkward meal and everyone at the table. We finished our main meals and were given a check and she walked away; however, we had planned to get dessert and we were never asked if we wanted anything else. Again this may have been the new waitress not knowing- but that’s the responsibility of those training her.

I went to Katie Downs for the first time in many years and was in Heaven. This is my all time favorite pizza, in particular The Mariner.

I had a wonderful Philly cheesesteak at Katie Downs—absolutely delicious. The servers were all friendly, courteous, and attentive, which really added to the experience.
The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, and I appreciate that it’s adults-only. Being right on the water makes it even better, with beautiful, scenic, panoramic views of the water.
Great food, great service, and an amazing setting. I’ll definitely be back

Katie Downs is a restaurant on the water right on the water. Parking here is easy since it’s a long row of spots in front but sometimes people park here to walk the trail along the water. Inside there are about 3 dozen tables plus an upstairs area and a patio area open during the summer. The service here is great, friendly and funny servers and quick food and drinks. Prices are a bit high for the portions but some of the food is really good like the curly fries and fish & chips. The pizza was alright, the sauce isn’t really sauce and onions weren’t cooked so it made it weird, and there’s a lot of cheese that’s really thick. The burgers were alright too. They have a ton of TVs to watch things, mostly sports. It opens at 11am for brunch and it’s 21+ only, so no kids allowed. Overall it’s an awesome spot with really cool views. Call for reservations if you plan on getting there after 1pm or dinner.
