We ordered steamed momo, chilli momo , soup momo and saag chicken. I loved the taste of all the momo. Some nepali restaurant when I visit they miss on authenticity of momo especially the sauce but I loved the taste. The chilly momo was really good too that reminded me of times I ate them in Nepal. Even the saag chicken was very flavourful that exceeded my expectation. Would love to go back to get the taste of Nepal whenever I am in Iowa.

As much as I like spicy food, Medium was much too hot so be aware of what you ask for. The naan bread is the best around. The yogurt is super and good to have on side if spice hits hard. This time I had goat curry. Wowee! Service is always wonderful. At lunch you get linen napkins and tablecloth. Great
Selection so you can’t go wrong. Delish!!

My husband and I ate here for Valentines day dinner and it was absolutely extraordinary! Seriously the best food I’ve had since I can’t remember when. The samosas are heavenly. We are vegetarian and there are so many wonderful vegetarian and vegan options to choose from. We got appetizers, entres and a side of naan and rice and ended up with a feast fit for kings and enough to take home for lunch the next day. The customer service was amazing, and the atmosphere was lovely as well. The waiter even asked us if we would like to move to a booth when one opened up. I can’t wait for an excuse to come back!

We had a gift card to have delivery – picked chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, rice, naan, samosas. All was delicious, warm, and nourishing. All ages loved it. Enough for leftovers, too!!

I’ve done take out multiple times and dine in for the lunch buffet and both are so good!! One of my favorite places in the metro. Staff is so kind, knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. Everything is tasty and can be cooked to preferred spice level and my favorites are the fried chicken momo and the cheese naan. Always top tier!

I am not a normal eater of Indian cuisine, but I promise this food at this restaurant is good. I can’t tell you what I got because I can’t remember the name but it was a blackened chicken with amazing sauce and rice. Naan and chicken steamed dumplings with more amazing sauce. If you like good food and want to try something new, this place is fantastic.

We stopped by for dinner at 7:00 on a Thursday. It wasn’t too busy, but there were four or so other tables seated. Service was friendly and we got to pick where we sat. Our waters were full and the food came out very timely. Overall the food was really good. I really enjoyed the garlic naan and the chicken biryani. The portions are great for the price. We got an appetizer and two meals and took home three boxes of food. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

The best Nepalese food I’ve ever had. I came in shortly before close and still received impeccable service and incredible food. I was in Des Moines for one night only and I’m so grateful this was the restaurant I chose!

Exceptional food, an amazing owner, and truly outstanding hospitality. We were traveling from Colorado to Chicago and arrived near closing time, yet they welcomed us with open hearts and served us with genuine kindness. This level of care and generosity is rare, unforgettable, and meant more to us than words can express. We will never forget this experience.

Flavors you cannot find elsewhere in Iowa.
If you’re visiting Des Moines, you have to stop in at Kathmandu. The flavors are rich and authentic. The food is always hot and made to order. The staff is dependable, friendly and will treat you with great care. This is an absolute gem in Iowa that we are so lucky to have. If you like Nepalese food or are interested in trying, you cant go wrong here.
My wife and I visit here almost once a week and have tried most of the menu. Each time we try something new, we’re satisfied with the choice. The menu has such a wide variety of flavors.
Must try the Gobi Manchurian and the Tandoori Chicken.
