Kathiyawadi Kitchen offers an extensive variety of Gujarati and Kathiyawadi dishes, and the flavors truly shine with authentic, traditional taste. Every dish was delicious and thoughtfully prepared.
The new Edison location is beautifully decorated—warm, inviting, and welcoming. The hospitality was excellent and added to the overall dining experience.
All the food tasted fresh, straight from the kitchen. The spices were perfectly balanced—not too spicy, not too sweet, not oily—and had a comforting, homestyle feel. Come with an empty stomach and be prepared to leave in a happy food coma!
Some standout dishes for me were the Monchow soup, Lasooni Gobhi, Palak Paneer paired with Bullet Naan, and of course the OG Kathiyawadi Thali.

Me and my wife had dinner here in our recent trip from Seattle. We loved the service and food. Their Kathiyawadi thali is amazing and the best part of it is you can share. It’s a great value for money. The service is amazing as well. We were ordering two thalis but server suggested to order only one and we can order extra portion of breads if needed. Food was amazing.. each and every thing.

I have been a big fan of kathiyawadi thali since they opened up in Sayreville, NJ. I have been there plenty of time so I know food is good but this new location in Edison is even better. Decoration is modern traditional. Ambience is very welcoming, thali food is same taste as original. Puri kathiyavadi food made by owner’s wife. Incredible They have added so many new options that you will not find anywhere else. One of the newest things is Spicy ghughra, bharela ringan batata, bhungra batata, live gathiya no shack, and BEST OF ALL mango ras that get delivered from india. Can’t miss that.

We enjoyed Soups, Dahi poori, pani poori, vada pav, gughara, tandoori paneer lollipop and dhabeli….. each one bursting with authentic flavors. The Punjabi, Kathiyawadi, and Gujarati thalis were outstanding, and dishes like cheese butter masala and dal tadka were simply divine. The gorgeous ambience made the experience even more enjoyable, warm, and welcoming. To top it all off, the aamras was truly out of this world. Every bite felt fresh, flavorful, and made with love. Went to this restaurant while visiting New Jersey from Boston with two friends, and we loved the food. I had heard a lot about their thali and had always wanted to try it, and it did not disappoint. We ordered two thalis for three people and were completely full by the end. Portions are generous and the food is very satisfying. Prices are mid-range; expect to spend around $100 for three people. They don’t take reservations, so calling ahead to check the waitlist definitely helps. The Kathiawadi thali is a must try. Would absolutely visit again.
