Delicious and authentic, though portions could be better!
We recently ordered a catering platter (half roti/half naan, rice, 2 veg, and 2 non-veg). Overall, the food was delicious; the Roti was fresh and the curries and Gajar halwa had great flavor, especially the Kasoori Chicken, which was a standout.
The Good:
Customized Heat: They nailed the spice levels exactly as requested.
Natural Ingredients: Light on food dyes, which is rare and much appreciated. I wish Indian restaurants would stop using any dyes at all.
Price: Very fair price point for a large catering order.
The Disappointing:
Meat/Paneer Ratio: We were disappointed to find a lot more gravy than actual chicken bits or paneer pieces. It felt a bit thin on the main ingredients for a catering spread.
Allergy Oversight: They forgot to exclude a specific allergen in one dish. While the person just skipped that item and it wasn’t a “big deal” for us, it’s worth double-checking if you have strict requirements.
Verdict: Great taste and quality, but I hope they improve the meat-to-gravy ratio in the future!
I had Channa Bhatura tonight (dine-in). The 2 Bhatura were better than average: light, fluffy and not very oily.
The Channa was a common Channa Masala (not the dark masala Pindi Channa), and the portion was larger than average.
However, the accompanying Aloo sabzi was a big disappointment: the serving was very small (only 3 pieces of potatoes). The potatoes were large chunks and undercooked, and the masala did not taste good either.
I was pleasantly surprised by the accompanying Achar which was a refreshing delight. The julienned carrots and onions were mixed with an Achari Mango Pickle, which tasted very good and unique.
I had told them to hold the Raita and provide additional Achar instead, which you can see in the photo.
Lots of variety on the menu
Not much variety in the sweets or happy hour selection.
Edit- dined-in today. It was very quiet as expected for a weekday lunch, but we enjoyed the music that was playing. The food was great-tasting. What felt odd was after we ordered, the waiter came out to tell us that his manager said one of our items has had a $3 price increase but hadn’t been changed on the menu (channa bhatura). He asked if we were ok to keep the order or to order something else. A few dollars was ok for us to pay as I wanted to try the dish, but that was first time being asked this ever. Good customer service would have been to cover that $3 and then fix their menu.
Surprisingly, the place was nearly empty on a Saturday evening which was a bit strange. Some items are fairly expensive relative to other restaurants of similar stature (e.g., cocktails are $17-18 and some appetizers are in the higher end too). Again, for this price range nothing stood out as “worth it”.
Overall, a decent place to try and enjoy a quiet evening out.
