Ordered a chicharon from here, new owner is very nice however I definitely need to admit that the prices have gone up and you guys may need to get there early to catch some good soups. Again amazing food but prices for Union City have gone up. Still reccomend it anyways as it still is great dominican food

My dear mother, (RIP), used to own restaurants in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and she was an exceptional cook. She had an special touch with Dominican Food that was admired by my friends and family that still reminds me about her culinary skills. Since she passed away, I miss her greatly, and sometimes I remember her spaghettis con tostones, arroz con leche, sancocho, mondongo y patitas de cerdo. Since I migrated to this country, i haven’t been able to find equal flavor (Sazón) anywhere, until, by just coincidence, I was passing through Bergerline Ave, and I saw an small restaurant named El Cachetón (Kary:s Restaurant). I sat at this place and had Locrio de Cerdo with Patitas de Cerdo con tostones, and all I could think was “Ratatouille”. The scene where the culinary critic had a taste of a dish that transported him to the memory of his mom cooking his favorite dish. Until now, i haven’t found anything like it, the same Sazón and taste of my mother’s cooking, I couldn’t believe it. I spoke with the owner and his wife and told them my story, and how honored I was of eating in their new restaurant; (they just acquired the place a month ago from my visit in December 2021). I wish them the best of luck and to always have the opportunity of going back and eating there to bring memories of my dear mother once again.

Obviously prices have gone up but old owners charged $5 for chicken with rice this new owner charges $11 for same thing. Might as well cook at home, area is changing, thats manhattan pricing not UC

Probé el Mangú con tres golpes y el morir sonó ando pero con jugo de limón, muy rico y abundante.
Para quien no ha probado el mangú, la mejor descripción es un puré de plátano verde, y este va acompañado de queso, huevo y salami, fritos.
Hay espacio con mesas y sillas para comer tranquilamente.
