This place was fantastic! Steak and side dishes, drinks, everything was on point. Even got to take selfie with the chef!! Highly recommend the tomahawk steak!! You get a little mini show from the chef. Definitely worth it! Also you get to pick out your own steak knife from a selection definitely will be back!

We celebrated our anniversary at **Karuma** and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel incredibly special—our names were displayed on the screens, and a beautiful personalized message set the tone for the evening.

Our waiter, **Antonio**, truly went above and beyond. His attentive and warm service elevated the experience, making us feel genuinely cared for. The **filet** was perfectly cooked—flavorful and tender—and every dish we tried was a symphony of bold, unforgettable flavors.

Just Meh …

Some of the steaks were ok but the rib eyes were inedible. The filet mignon were over cooked
Just generally overpriced vs other restaraunts in the Garza Blanca resort. Dao was much better on all counts
In addition service was mediocre eggplant allergy was misconstrued as eggs dispute attempts to clarify.
Waiters talked about guests at table to each other.
Sauces were not great. Humus with bread was good.
Drinks were mediocre
Apps and deserts were ok but wrong dishes were brought vs what was ordered.

The outdoor concept is stunning and you can feel the ocean breeze while in the restaurant. Our server Eric was very friendly and treated us with great hospitality. All the produce was very fresh and the Tomahawk was delicious and cooked to perfection.

The place is very nice. But they need improvements. They either don’t have a good chef. And most likely, they don’t have a good manager. The place is wonderful beautiful. It has a lot of potential. And I have a respect for the owner of Mussai, of that entire project. However, they are neglecting the supervision of this place. Ran extremely low quality for organizing; my $100 stake was cold. I spent 5000 pesos plus tip there. I have a lot to improve. Again, the place has potential.And unless you are staying in that hotel complex, it is frankly not worth it to travel. The distance that is outside of Varta.

The steaks were cooked to perfection but we could not eat them because they were covered in salt. Kosher salt was also used as a garnish. If you enlarge the photo, you will see salt glistening all of the meat. The waiter took them back and put them on clean plates but the damage was done. Our mouths were full of salt. Everything tasted of salt: the wine, bread, salad. We left without eating and paid in full. We took the desert to go but they gave us the wrong order.

RESPONSE TO OWNER’S REPLY
Thank you for your response. I paid $hundreds$ for a meal that no one would be able to eat. Each of the salt granules contains highly concentrated salt. The amount of salt on the meat was not visible. It only became apparent after a couple of bites that filled the taste buds with salt. The camera picks up the amount of salt on the meat. All that sparkles is salt. The loose salt on the dish contaminated everything that touched the plate. Everything tasted of salt: the meat, salad, bread, wine. We were so distressed that all we could do is leave without eating, pay the bill and drink water all night.

The food came to the table from the kitchen in this state. No warning, no options, no requests. I cannot imagine how any chef could make such an error in judgement.

I stay at Garza Blanca Puerto Vallarta for several weeks each year. I have enjoyed the beautiful ambiance and warm hospitality of Karuma often with the various activities extended to Tafer Elite Members . Thank you.

My husband and I are both certain the meal we ate at Karuma is the best of our lives. I cannot recommend eating here more – it’s an hidden gem in the most beautiful garden, and the dining experience is unmatched.

The service is outstanding and the views are incredible. The staff pays a lot of attention to detail and it’s a fine dining experience. The food is good. Not the best I’ve ever had especially for the prices but the ambiance more than makes up for it.
