Absolutely one of my favorite hidden gems in the Hartford area. This Jamaican/ soul food takeout restaurant is located inside of a convience store. Everything is incredible, from the Oxtail, to the Curry and Jerk Chicken. They fry the fish to order and the portion sizes are huge. For 12 or 13 dollars, you get enough for dinner and lunch the next day. Definitely take the drive if you’re ever in the Windsor area.

What a restaurant!!! Today was my first day coming to this restaurant and I am well pleased! I was able to meet Chef Ty and test taste the oxtail (which was delicious by the way!) Everything I selected in the buffet style restaurant was literally amazing and I will certainly come back again and I encourage you lovely people to come in as well! The Pineapple ginger tea they have is a must try too, and the customer service is sweet. I love this place!

First time trying this for lunch today. We used to drive 30 minutes for Caribbean food…now we found a place 10 minutes away! Wow, flavor explosion! Delicious jerk chicken and curry chicken platters with rice& peas as well as veggie medley. What a great place! We will definitely be back for more. Thank you!

I ABSOLUTELY enjoyed my food from here. I had fried fish, stew or bbq chicken, cabbage, mac & cheese and white rice. YUMMO the food was delicious. My daughter had the curry chicken, cabbage, and rice & peas. That was delicious I am sorry I have not heard about this place sooner. I hear on Fridays at 6pm they have seafood specials❤ I will be back extremely satisfied.

I ordered GrubHub delivery to the hotel I’m staying in. The fried chicken was crispy and flavorful. The leg piece was juicy and moist. The seasoned green beans were tender, crisp, and flavorful. The cabbage medley was good. The mac & cheese was bursting with flavor. The jerk chili tenders were tender, flavorful, and crispy. The rice and peas were subtle and simple. The only issue I had was that the food was lukewarm or room temp at best. This gives me the impression that the food was not really kept hot before being sent out for delivery. The delivery was made within 45 mins.

Updating my review unfortunately, the food is a little different, still good but something has changed. The Mac doesn’t have that nice crispy top. I miss the self serve, and there is a huge sanitary issue I’m having. The woman who serves the food does not wear gloves, she has very long nails and after handling money at the register she doesn’t wear gloves and it worries me. I want to continue coming to KBK but there are so many changes

My very first time eating from this restaurant and I must say I would rate higher if I could. I’m a big foodie and this food was AMAAAAAZINGGGG!!!! So flavorful and fresh. Well seasoned. I had the jerk fry fish and shrimp with cabbage, Mac and cheese and rice and peas. Great portions!!!! I asked for tarter sauce and I didn’t even use it. I was super excited already because I was craving some seafood and was referred to this restaurant.
I ordered from Uber eats and as soon as the driver pulled up he right away stated that “You will be eating good tonight” this place is great!!! Welp let’s just say that word of mouth is the best form of promotion because he definitely was right!!! This is my new favorite spot.
If you have never eaten from here please visit, you will not be disappointed!!!!!
