1st time we had the Instant Karma & The Brooklyn. Bothe delicious and our waiter Tony was the best. Very informative, friendly and attentive.we even talked some snowboarding!
2nd time was tonight and we had the tempura onion rings , the tuna and halibut Nigiri followed up bythe black cat & vegas roll! This will be one of or regular spots up.here from now on!
However, the karaage chicken was not fully cooked inside.
Beyond the food the service was excellent from start to finish. The staff was attentive without being overbearing and they made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. It really added to the overall experience and made us feel welcomed and comfortable.
If you enjoy sushi this place offers a good mix of creative rolls and classic favorites. For me it was the Vegas Roll that set the bar so high and it is the kind of dish you keep thinking about long after you leave.
The salmon nigiri was dry and I dont know that I’ve had “dry” sushi in quite some time but I think thats the best word for it. The miso hippie ramen was amazing!
The atmosphere itself was great! Definitely had a vibe going. The few waitstaff we interacted with felt almost robotic and we waited quite a few times for quite awhile before they came back to check on us for anything.
For the price tag, I think every other sushi place I’ve been to in Flagstaff is better. Their ramen saved them, if I was just resting the sushi, I’d give them 1 star. Maybe their sushi chef that won the awards was off today ♂️
We ordered the Karma and Instant Karma sushi rolls, along with the lobster tempura bites from their specials menu. The lobster bites were tasty but were mostly breading, especially for the $18 price point. The ramen was good, but the noodles were a little different than what we expected. As for the sushi, the flavors were good but the rice was a bit mushy this time around.
That said, the service was great. Thomas did an excellent job letting us know that the sushi bar was a bit backed up, so we really appreciated the communication. They brought out our ramen first, and about 15 minutes later our sushi and appetizer arrived.
We’ve been to Karma before and have had great experiences, so it seems like they were just extra busy this time. We’ll definitely be back
