I came to eat at Karina’s, and honestly, I don’t recommend this place if you’re looking for good food. The menu says the meat is Ribeye, but it didn’t look or taste like Ribeye to me. The guacamole tasted artificial, and the beans were too greasy and lacked flavor — I didn’t even finish them. I paid about $52 for one meal and one drink (plus tip), which is way too expensive for the quality. Prices keep going up, but the flavor and quality keep going down.
We also were not given plates or silverware, and one order for a single taco came out as a full platter. On top of that, the restaurant attempted to charge us $5 for salsa we couldn’t even enjoy because the tacos were cold. Communication was poor throughout the evening, and we even witnessed our server roll her eyes while another server had to translate our concerns to both her and the manager.
When it came time to resolve the bill, management argued with us over removing the cold food, incorrect order, and the salsa. Between the poor service, cold food, and unprofessional handling of the situation, this was an unacceptable experience. I would caution anyone considering dining here.
Favorite Meals coming in far below expectations.
Service was mediocre and literally no ambience beyond big screen tv. Plenty of options for us to explore… We feel glad about good memories of many excellent meals and celebrations at Karina’s on Highland.
We arrived around 6 PM on a Friday evening. The restaurant was already bustling. We were seated immediately (I preferred to eat outdoors even though indoor was available). A heat lamp was immediately provided and the server was quick to greet us. Everything about our service was timely. We ordered right away, we received our drinks and entrées in a timely manner, our server checked on us multiple times and refilled our chips and salsa with no extra charge, and we wrapped up our bill in no time.
We ordered their signature green aguachiles de camarones and the bacon wrapped shrimp tacos with rice and beans. Everything tasted incredible. It was fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend both dishes. The amount of food seemed reasonable according to price.
I am so happy we weren’t disappointed. It was a great experience. ***Parking can be an issue when they are busy. We had to park in another lot.
Today’s dessert, FOOD POISONING
Everything tasted fresh, but I started feeling queasy about an hour later. I have been down bad, in the worst way, for the past 7 hours.
Also, service in the bar lounge area is small.
