We just visited Kari House for the first time, and it completely blew us away! I came with my family, and we all left beyond satisfied and genuinely happy with the experience.

One thing we loved right away is that the food is made to order fresh and flavorful.

They even bring your entrée on a full plate and give you a separate side plate for the rice.

We started with the chicken dumplings and the shrimp & pork wontons, both of which were delicious and packed with flavor. For our mains, we tried their famous mango chicken, Gu Lou chicken, black pepper chicken, and shrimp noodles. Everything was excellent, but the black pepper chicken was the absolute standout, so good we’ll definitely be coming back just for that dish!

On top of the amazing food, the service was warm, attentive, and very friendly, which really made the meal even more enjoyable.

Highly recommend Kari House for anyone looking for great food, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere.

This restaurant is small, but quite clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and chatty, making you feel right at home.
As for the food, everything we tried was delicious. The chicken, in particular, was incredibly tender, unlike the dry, stringy chicken you often find in many other places. Overall, the value for money here is exceptional, and to top it off, the restaurant even gave us a complimentary plate of fried chicken wings at the end – a delightful surprise!
This isn’t a place you’d travel across the country for, but it’s definitely the kind of warm, inviting spot you could visit with family every week, or even every day. If you live nearby, I highly recommend you give it a try!

My first time here and the food was amazing! Will definitely be back here more often. You can choose the spice levels depending on what you can handle and they make it perfectly. All items we ordered tasted very authentic, having been to Malaysia a few times and tasted a variety of dishes the Malay cuisine offers.
Bon appetit!

Excellent Malaysian food can be found at Kari House in Sugar Hill / Buford. The restaurant is in an unassuming shopping plaza and parking is a little tricky as most available spots are time restricted from a few minutes to 1 hour, but don’t let that distract you from coming to excellent Kari House. My friend is more familiar with Malaysian food and said their food was legit and tasted very high quality and authentic. Me not being that familiar with Malaysian food asked for recommendations from the cashier who made excellent suggestions and I was happy with our entire meal. The main dish was large enough to take some home.
Prices were a bit high but the quality and authenticity of this restaurant made the meal worth it.
High marks and a thank you to Kari House for a delicious meal. 5 stars and a we will be back!

A genuinely great Malaysian restaurant. The flavors are clean, layered, and well-balanced — rich with spices but never heavy or greasy. You can really taste the care in how the dishes are prepared, not just heat for the sake of heat.

Ingredients are fresh, portions are satisfying, and the cooking is consistent. It feels like food made by people who respect their cuisine rather than trying to water it down. The space is bright and comfortable, and service is friendly and efficient without being overbearing.

This isn’t a trendy spot that’s good once — it’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to and confidently recommend. Excellent value for the quality. Will definitely return.

Such a wonderful place with wonderful people!! The food was absolutely amazing! My husband and I have been to Singapore and this is the FIRST time I’ve had hainanese chicken in the states that made me feel like I was back in Singapore! The Teh Tari was amazing! I would give them more stars if I could! 10/10 recommend!

My husband and I came here for the first time and this place is a hidden gem. Authentic Malaysian food that cannot be beat! Being from Malaysia we have not been able to find that authentic flavor at any other Malaysian restaurant we’ve been to in the Atlanta area. The owners are down to earth and crafted our dishes to our liking. Very clean and courteous staff. Will come back over and over…

Tried this place for the first time and really enjoyed it! I’m not Malaysian, so I can’t speak to authenticity, but the food was delicious. I ordered the Hainanese chicken and fish balls—both were great. The chicken was tender and flavorful, served with two tasty sauces. The fish balls had a unique, chewy texture that I really liked.

Service was smooth—they bring the food to your table, but you pay at the cashier. I also noticed they have a good weekday lunch deal ($18 for an appetizer, entree, and drink), which sounds like a great value. I’ll definitely be back to try it!
