With the new owner, I wouldn’t recommend the food here. It doesn’t taste the same anymore. I ordered green curry, which was way too sweet and wasn’t thick like it should be; there were no eggplants in it either. We also ordered noodles, which turned out to be instant ramen noodles from a packet . I will never come back here again.

Karen Thai and Sushi is a small place on the corner of Sam Ridley and Weakly Road.
I popped in here for a late lunch after the other sushi place would not serve me. The hours said they opened at 12 moon so when I got there they said the dining room didn’t open until three. That information was not on the door and it was not on any of their online pages that I saw. I was pretty disappointed.
So I looked around to find another place nearby to get sushi. That’s what I really wanted and that’s what I was going to have. What is the listings I found with Karen Thai and Sushi. It was pretty close by and had very good reviews so I decided to give it a try.

I am so happy I gave it a try! Everything i ordered was very good and the people that work here are smiling and happy and eager to please. I did order too much food though and now I got a fat stomach. Well maybe I have a fat stomach most of the time but it’s a little bit fatter now.
I ordered a spicy tuna roll and while it was very good it wasn’t exactly what I expected. I can’t put my finger on what was the difference other than it was spicier than I expected but it was good. I’m not complaining; it was very good and I ate every bite
I ordered a bowl of miso soup. I should’ve ordered a cup because that bowl was so big that I could not finish it all and I love miso soup.
I also ordered an appetizer order of tempura shrimp. I think that’s what I enjoyed the most. The shrimp was perfectly fried, big and crunchy. The sauce it came with was perfect and I absolutely enjoyed every bite of it.
If you’ve got a taste for sushi and you’re in the Smyrna area I highly recommend dropping into Karen Thai and Sushi and giving it a try. I bet you won’t be disappointed.

Small, family owned restaurant in the heart of Smyrna. Prices & quality of sushi can’t be beaten. We love the crunchy crab & combination fried rice. If you are looking for good authentic, high quality sushi this is it. Also, we didn’t order the boat, but if you get enough sushi they automatically bring it out on one.

I don’t go to this place a lot but when I do everything is 5 stars. I went there tonight and got food. I asked for Pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp. I got charged and extra $3 which I knew and that was fine but there was more chicken than shrimp. Only 3 pieces of shrimp in the plate. Did I get charged $1 a shrimp or what’s going on. Normally I’ve had more than just 3 single pieces of shrimp. But to be charged $3 extra and not get my moneys worth for what I wanted is ridiculous.

This place is a hidden gem! It’s family owned, and everyone who works there is so personable and professional. They’re a welcoming environment for date nights or family outings (they’re so friendly with my son!). Everything I’ve ordered there has been absolutely delicious with beautiful plating that makes me feel like I’m on a luxurious vacation, but it’s so reasonably priced! This is my absolute favorite restaurant, and I recommend it to everyone who likes a memorable culinary experience.

Amazing sushi, usually when I get a sashimi plate I get stuck with the fish no one ever wants (or tamago or ebi). This place is awesome the boat and sashimi deluxe did not disappoint! All salmon, tuna, white tuna, red snapper and octopus…so worth the money! I highly recommend…only down side no saki only beer. Went another time and still amazing!

This place was okay but I really expected it to be five stars with all the reviews I saw. The steamed dumplings were tasteless. The lo mein stir fried had good flavor but the noodles were very mushy it was annoying to enjoy it with that texture. My friends and I ordered four different types of sushi and we all agreed that they didn’t have no flavor. You could compare the sushi to the one from a Chinese restaurant, just bland. It was also disappointing they didn’t have the banana fried ice cream I was looking forward to that. The last thing that irritated me was I didn’t get a refill on my water the whole time until we were about to leave. Probably will give another try in the future.
