Kare Bar is a great restaurant for Japanese dishes, much better and more reasonably priced than the other restaurant across the parking lot. Unagi Kamameshi is their signature dish, and a must have. Kurobata sausage is also a favorite of mine. Service is great, and we’ve been lucky getting a table though the place does get busy at peak meal times.

We had an amazing time at Kare Bar! The staff were speedy, friendly and welcoming. We also didn’t have to wait too long for our food to come out— the miso soup was the best we’ve had in the NOVA area and the katsu was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The curry was very savory with large chunks of carrots for an extra sweetness. We will be coming back!!

Best restaurant we’ve been to in awhile! The food was great with a good balance of flavors, there was a variety of spices and sauces that paired really well with the dishes, and the service was amazing! Our server was really attentive and nice, would highly recommend anyone to come here! We also tried their new dessert, the roti with ice cream and it was the perfect not-too-sweet dessert to end the night on

Our server was so nice and the food was DELICIOUS!! I feel like more people need to know about this place, we ate up every bite we got the chicken katsu curry, don katsu curry, and the udon miso pasta – 10/10!! Perfect portions too

The Karé Bar was such a fantastic experience! Our server was incredibly friendly and full of helpful recommendations. My friend originally planned to order the beef curry, but she suggested the chicken katsu curry instead, saying it would better capture what they’re known for and she was absolutely right. The chicken was juicy with a light, satisfying crunch from the breading.
I had the Japanese Hamburger Steak curry, and it was packed with flavor. The patty had onions and carrots mixed in, and when paired with the rich, savory curry, it was a total flavor explosion.
We also tried a few appetizers based on her suggestions, and they were spot on. The yellowtail carpaccio was light and refreshing, and the tuna tartare was beautifully balanced—the spice from the tuna mellowed out by the raw quail egg and creamy avocado, all served on a delicate, crispy base.
I’ve already been back to try the Unagi Kamameshi, which she recommended for our next visit—and once again, she didn’t miss. It was warm, comforting, and full of umami. I can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu!

The simplicity here is what makes it a good place to eat some good japanese food. I had the oyakodon and katsu appetizer. Both had good generous portions. The oyakodon was the best I had. Good service and nice interior too. Their karage and udon cream pasta is very good too!

Second visit, and it was just as cozy and friendly a stop this time. Food (curry, ramen, edamame) is delicious and comforting. Staff is welcoming and friendly. Both visits included a stream of patrons, but never overly crowded. Will definitely be back again!

This place was a great surprise! It feels warm and cozy inside, and they pay attention to the little things that make it special. The food is really good – every dish is delicious. You have to try their curry, it’s perfect! The service is also excellent.

The most authentic Japanese place i’ve found in the US – Takoyaki and seafood dumplings were amazing. My favorite Oyakudon was on point, the Chicken katsu curry was incredible and I actually think it was better than the Oyakudon.
Service was great, the atmosphere, aesthetics etc were awesome. We also got the Matcha cheesecake and the Yuzu Cheesecake.
