the atmosphere was ok. the only thing was music too loud. they have hooka .
I think it is a good place if you are around the area to try it.

This was our first stop after getting to New York from Fort Lauderdale Florida. I will say we went on a Wednesday night, it was lit the DJ knew a friend of mine and the music was bumpin.
We headed over to the bar and ordered the Mofongo with Churrasco and let me tell youuu! Out of our entire 7 day trip this food was THE BEST we had in NY. The chef was amazing and the mofongo comes with bone broth and I have to say it is the best mofongo I’ve ever had.
I don’t do reviews much but I had to for this one! It can get a little packed but I like my places lit not dead. If DJPHRYME is there just KNOW it’s a good time.

This place was pretty cool. The biggest surprise was the food honestly. It was pretty tasty and the menu is pretty extensive. Not just bar food. They have hookah options for $30 and $20 for refills. I did not buy any drinks because the group ordered bottle service due to celebrating a birthday. There was a way to pay gratuity before we started. However, I’m not sure how that happened. I was just there to celebrate, not plan anything. Something to keep in mind if you are planning your birthday there. The waitress was pretty nice. Lastly, very limited vegetarian options and no vegan options. Outside of the very loud music. Good music, but just too loud during my visit. This is a solid place.

Bartender messed up pitcher order and couldn’t take accountability of his mistake. Then not only that instead of the owner or manager of the location come to our table, a promoter comes bringing us another print out of bill that we already have. Had an attitude like she wanted us to leave. Humble yourself! The owner should have handle that not you sweetie. Never had a issue in this location until I went.

So me and my friends went here at about 8, 830pm on a Friday night. Had a good time for the most part, but a fight broke out with some of the other quest that were there. The security guard sprayed mace in the air and told everybody to get out. Didn’t matter that this could have cause hell of chaos, or the safety of the other patrons. He even went on to say “that’s mace you guys are feeling, everybody out” then as we started to grab our things, he went on to say “I’m getting ready to spray it again, it doesn’t bother me”
Horrible experience after having such a good time, never again.!
First and last time here for me!

I love going out and experiencing new places. It was my first time there and I guess on this Tuesday, it was a slow start. Happy Hour cups were the small 5cent cups. The pitcher for $30 was a small pitcher filled with a lot of ice, 50 cent wings were fried extra hard for no reason and so was the fries. The atmosphere was dry to me. I will try Karmelo’s again on another night to catch a different vibe hopefully. SORRY, I guess it wasn’t my night to shine. Pictures none and I love taking pictures of my outings should I say more.

The young lady that took care of my friends and I took good care of us. Unfortunately when the happy hour time was coming to an end and we were finishing our meals they started to rush us out. While two of us were in the restroom they came up to my friend in 3 different occasions rushing us out within minutes of each other. That was very disappointing, we did have a good time and the food was good but the end of the night unfortunately did not end well.

Unfortunately I didn’t eat here. Just went for the music and drinks. It was definitely worth it. The music was great. Drinks were good also. My friends and I were dancing all night. They play all music. It’s a nice spot.

Honestly the wait staff/servers were horrible. All of them. If you weren’t Latino or look Latino you were not getting service. Had to wait nearly an hour for just the drinks to come to the table. Only person who was doing their job in that establishment was the hookah guy SHOUT OUT TO HIM FOR AT LEAST GIVING DECENT SERVICE. Not to mention they charged us for an item we didn’t order and tried overcharging us at the end and had to correct it 3 times. Horrible. Just horrible.

The lounge is located below a residential building that lives mostly elderly and working families. As you know if residents don’t work and children don’t get sufficient rest/ sleep the landlord won’t get paid. I say all this based on the noise pollution that radiants out of the establishment is beyond acceptable not excluding the fights, vulgarity, broken liquor bottles and food left over daily, a welcoming habitat to NYC rodents.
The owner of the establishment is rude, shows no empathy or compassion to the hard working families that live above the establishment. In the process of contacting the news and the Department of Environmental protection office for this lounge is surely in violation of the NYC current noise code (e. g. 10:00pm to 7:00AM).
Perhaps with imposed penalties the owner will realize the importance of respecting her city s noise and her business establishments bylaws.
Sincerely,
Native New Yorker
